Werder Bremen: How is Marcus Thuram to stop? Kohfeldt knows!

Bremen – The high flying of Borussia MOnchengladbach is very closely linked with his name: Marcus Thuram. Florian Kohfeldt has great respect for the Frenchman, but SV Werder Bremen's coach also knows how the scorer can be stopped by Bremen on Sunday at Borussia Park.
"He is incredibly dynamic and embodies what Gladbach currently stands for overall: He is determined, dynamic, never gives…

Kohfeldt: I can’t fault players’ effort
SV Werder Bremen manager Florian Kohfeldt sympathised with his players after they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Christian Gentner put the hosts ahead in the 13th minute and a stoppage-time strike from Berkay Ozkan secured all three points for Stuttgart at Mercedes-Benz-Arena.
Despite the defeat, Kohfeldt was proud of his players’ attitude and effort and he believes they were rather unlucky on the day.
He told the club’s official website: “I can’t criticise the boys’ performance or their passion. We were really unlucky to go behind even though we had spoken before about how strong Stuttgart are from crosses and corners. They have players like Ginczek and Gomez who are really dangerous in the box.
“After that point it was really tough to play against a smart Stuttgart side. They were obviously trying to slow the pace of the game down, which is of course a completely legitimate tactic but mentally it’s tough when you need to chase the game.
“We tried everything; we switched up the personnel and pushed men forward. Today we just didn’t have enough pace in our play and lots of individual things didn’t fall into place. We know need to look at why we couldn’t find any solutions with our play.”

Kohfeldt: Langkamp slotted in with ease
SV Werder Bremen head coach Florian Kohfeldt was delighted with Sebastian Langkamp’s first Bundesliga start for the club in their 3-1 win over FC Augsburg on Saturday.
The 30-year-old centre-back completed his move from Hertha Berlin in January, but was only given his full debut at the weekend and showed off his quality.
Kohfeldt was impressed with Langkamp’s performance and how easily he adapted to his new team-mates.
“Sebastian is an intelligent player, he has slotted in seamlessly. There were absolutely no coordination issues,” Kohfeldt told the club’s official website.
Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann added: “From the first minute, Sebastian dominated and delivered a fantastic performance.”

Kohfeldt hails Bremen’s derby win
SV Werder Bremen manager Florian Kohfeldt was delighted with his side’s 1-0 victory over Nordderby rivals Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The two sides looked set to finish the derby clash level at 0-0, but an own goal from Rick van Drongelen in the 86th minute was enough to secure three points for the hosts.
Kohfeldt told the club’s official website: “It was a very intense match, with lots of running and lots challenges.
“Hamburg defended with passion, but as the game went on, we gained more control, won the ball back more and gave away very little on the break. Of course the goal came late, but overall we deserved the win.
“We made everything that we have been building towards in recent weeks count today. A derby win is always special.”
Striker Max Kruse added: “That definitely wasn’t the best game from a footballing perspective, but in a derby all that counts are the three points, which stay in Bremen today.
“Hamburg defended deep and gave little away. We weren’t able to play the ball in space. It worked in our favour that Hamburg pushed higher up in the second half.”
