Raul x Mukai Koji
The thing I want to try with everyone is the SM steakhouse
Mukai: I’m good at playing tag!
Raul: Me too. I ran pretty fast when I was a kid, and often played it at our apartment complex.
Mukai: I specialize in running away. The hide-and-seek/ cops and robbers game takes me back. Did you know that saying “Tanmi!” makes you invincible?
Raul: For us, it was “Tanma”.
Mukai: Ah, it is “Tanma” (laughs).
Raul: Isn’t it because it came from the English words “Time Out”?
Mukai: You’re probably right. How embarrassing. Another game we played a lot was "kick the can".
Raul: Were you born during Showa (*1926-1989)?
Mukai: Of course not! But we played a lot of games when I was in elementary. Like the one where you walk using cans with strings attached to them to make something similar to stilts.
Raul: For me, the memorable one was having a secret hideout. I brought a lot of trash and made a secret hideout with the kids from our neighborhood.
Mukai: Secret hideouts do have that soft feeling to them. Changing the subject, in terms of love and romance, which do you like more, chasing or being chased?
Raul: I would definitely be the one chasing. I am not very good with guys who want to be chased.
Mukai: I’m also the type who wants to chase. But I think I have the tendency to become intoxicated with chasing someone who will never be mine.
Raul: You’re calmly analyzing this.
Mukai: How do I say this... like “I like this lonely me” (laughs). Raul, why don’t you like men who want to be chased?
Raul: Because their respect for women is too low. I want to correct that disposition.
Mukai: There might be people who like feeling superior because they are being pursued?
Raul: Isn’t there no need to feel superior in love? I want to love with a pure feeling, without having to make plans (to make them fall in love with me).
Mukai: That’s right. But there might be fans who would feel happy if they are pursued.
Raul: Me too. But while feeling grateful, I also feel like I am chasing everyone.
Mukai: What do you mean?
Raul: Like “What should I do to make them happier?” or “What should I do so they would think that this is a good performance?”
Mukai: I understand. That is also needed. It’s why we do our best.
Raul: We really have a special connection with all the fans!
Mukai: What would you like to try and challenge with the SnowMan members?
Raul: Something like an obstacle that we haven’t tried before. Climbing a difficult mountain is also nice, but I want something that will utilize our bonds and allow us to make team plays.
Mukai: For example?
Raul: Managing a store. Assigning members into different roles... like kitchen, reception, and delivery.
Mukai: That sounds interesting. As for me, I’d like to be in reception because I’d be able to talk to a lot of people.
Raul: It would be good if we can make use of our strong points. By the way, I’d be the store ambassador. I’d go out with a signboard or flyers and advertise our store.
Mukai: So you won’t usually be working inside the store (laughs). What kind of restaurant will it be anyway?
Raul: A steakhouse. Something like “SM Steak”... Is the name weird? (laughs)
Mukai: No, it’s fine. Our store will only have S and M sizes. Also, what would be our store’s special feature?
Raul: You can request 1 song if you come to the store 100 times.
Mukai: That’s amazing! Then Raul, how about making it immediately!?
Raul: Then I’ll do it right away (laughs).
