finally finished my base edit of my redesigns of the MLP princesses! base credit goes to sleepymoss on dA. i've been having a very hard time drawing lately, and base edits help a lot with helping me still draw while not requiring too much energy. regardless, this still took a while.

some headcanons below the cut!

each of the princesses have the colors of their eyes and some aspect of their designs influenced by major events in their life.

for cadance, this was repairing the crystal heart and saving the crystal empire from sombra (with the help of twilight, of course). this granted her the blue hue to her wings and eyes, and the blue streaks in her hair.

for twilight, this was at the same moment she became an alicorn after unlocking her true power when it came to magic; her colors were pink and orange!

for luna, she gained her silvery and blue colors when she returned to equestria and rebuilt her bond with her sister, celestia. her starry hair shifts colors and brightness based mostly on her emotions and what she's doing. during a solar eclipse, her hair is completely white and leaves a trail of shimmering dust behind her when she walks and flies. when the princesses' magic was taken by the storm king and tirek, her hair turned to just deep blue-black hair.

for celestia, this was the moment she used the elements of harmony to banish luna to the moon. she took some of the elements' power within herself, and that power just grew in the time she was raising the sun and moon on her own. this power manifests in the outer 'aura' of color in her hair, which shifts and changes color according to the time of day. her true hair is the pink and orange inner layer. when her magic was taken, the outer layer disappeared entirely, and she felt almost naked without it.

this is how they will be appearing in my next gen, as well! some aspects of their designs have been changed to fit the show style of the base, though, but i will keep those aspects a surprise <3

next up will be the mane 6 i think! probably another base edit tbh...

WE MADE IT!!

i have a pretty big announcement to make! as some of you may know, my home situation has been SUPER unsteady for a good while now; the worst of it was back in january, when my parents gave me a month to find somewhere else to live with no warning, when i was very sick and struggling to survive. since then, i've been living with a stranger while i worked to build up my savings for an apartment.

and...well, we (my brother and i) finally got the apartment (not only that, but our dream apartment)! a MASSIVE thank you to everyone that donated to my ko-fi page and shared it around; in total, i made about $560 through donations alone, and i was able to save up the remainder of deposits on my own with a pretty big chunk of savings left over!

moving day is this saturday, the 13th! it's going to take some time while i get settled though, so i'll likely not be drawing for a little while, or at least not really posting the drawings that i do make since they won't be finished drawings.

seriously, thank you all SO much for getting us to the point where we can get this apartment. i genuinely would not have made it this far without everyone's support - i likely wouldn't have made it past january.

Finished an early Christmas gift for the most important people in my life, my big brother (@vimes-boots) and my partner (@my-halo-is-a-little-broken).

A bit of rambling below the cut! Apologies, it gets kinda sappy!

Neither of them are into MLP, but regardless, they let me design ponysonas for them a while back so that I could make comfort art of us together.

I can't get them actual Christmas gifts since I'm saving up for an apartment to help get me out of a...very, very unsavory home situation. I haven't had the energy for full, original art pieces lately (hence all of the base edits), so this is the best I can do at the moment. But they loved it, regardless, and I put a lot of love and care into this edit!

These two are the primary reason I made it through this, frankly, awful year. I don't know where I'd be without them, but it wouldn't be anywhere good, that's for sure. My brother and I are going to get an apartment (hopefully) early next year, and then from there, we'll work on getting my gf out here to live with us too.

I love them both so, so dearly, to the moon and back. They always find a way to make me smile and pick me up even on the worst days. Soon, we're going to make a home where we'll all feel safe and loved and warm and fed. I just have to keep holding on until we can make that dream a reality.

i know this blog is primarily for pony art, HOWEVER

i just finished finally designing a fursona that i actually connect to and im so happy with how they turned out, how could i NOT share?

meet kit! they're a puppy! i don't really have much info about them since they're literally just me LMAO. my hair isn't colored like this irl, but if i had the money and time and energy for maintenance and upkeep, i think i would want my hair to look like this...and i want to get top surgery someday, too

i am an incredibly emotional person, and my emotions are a big part of who i am, so i wanted that in the design somehow. of course, there's a wider range of emotion than just happiness, sadness, affection, and anger - but those are the base four emotions that i feel a lot of mine branch off of, and so any other emotion's colors will be influenced by which category they fit in (for me, at least)

these are the characters that i will simply never shut up about <33

eva - my ponysona! she's a weird dog unicorn creature...who can also summon magical wings. cringe is dead and i killed it with my bare hooves

tang - my main of mains. she's been my primary main oc since 2016 or so, and she's changed a lot since she first came into existence all those years ago. she's multiship, but i only ship her with my closest, most trusted friends. her canon form is humanoid actually, but she'll most often be appearing as a pony since...well, i just draw ponies.

maya - my dragon pony! i really don't know what to say about her, just that she's SO MUCH fun to draw. she's another character that's actually a humanoid, but again...can only draw ponies. but she's my beloved and so so much fun to draw, along with her partner, rook (who belongs to my best friend)

muriel - a more recent mlp oc! she's a siren that decorates herself with body paint mixed with bioluminescent algae.
