Ship: Kokonoi/Takemichi
Prompt: zipping or buttoning their jacket for them
Kokonoi grimaced when the first wave of cold washed over his face. He sighed as he rubbed his hands over his shoulders. He could hardly believe it.
Not the fact that Hanagaki liked to go out at this time, but the fact that Kokonoi was here and let it happen.
"Koko-kun," Hanagaki said as he stumbled out. And just as fast, he grimaced, "Wow, it's cold!"
Kokonoi scowled because it felt like there was no floor for stupidity-
And Hanagaki's hands reached for the front of his jacket, and immediately started buttoning him up.
"You're going to freeze to death!" he said, his cheeks already rosy and knuckles turning red. His jacket was still wide open, blowing out when the wind blew, and Kokonoi felt a rush of heat on his face.
"W-wha-" he spluttered, "Get off me! I can do it myself!"
"No way! You're going to prioritize fashion instead of your health!"
"You are the last person to talk about health!"
Hanagaki, only in these moments, was bullheadedly strong, and Kokonoi was helpless against the death-grip he had.
"You're so full of shit, Koko-kun!" he scowled, "If you did think that, then you would have done it by now!"
But Kokonoi, who figured it would be faster if he stopped fighting, stood still. He scowled, face burning until the cold felt welcoming, and he tried not to think about the gossiping old ladies whispering and pointing at them.
"There! All done!"
And Hanagaki popped his collar, pulling it up and closed over his neck, and he stepped in with a warm smile that didn't belong in this awful, frigid day.
"Isn't it warm now?"
And Kokonoi, who still remembered the heat of a fire in his childhood crush's home, felt his heart fold in half. He stared for a moment longer before he gave a huff.
"Alright," he said, and then smiled. Hanagaki, who knew him well after all, shifted backwards, suddenly wary. "Where are you going?" he grabbed Hanagaki's shoulder and squeezed tight.
"Uh… Koko-kun?"
"It's your turn now," he said, grabbing the front of Hanagaki's jacket. "After all, I wouldn't want you to be cold."
"W-We should go, the others are probably waiting for-"
"They can wait a little longer."
And if Kokonoi was slow to zip him up, it was because it was cold and his fingers felt like ice. If Kokonoi didn't move as fast as physically possible, it was because of circumstances outside of his control.
"There. Don't catch a cold and send all of Tokyo into a frenzy."
"Huh? What are you talking about?"
Kokonoi stared at Hanagaki for a moment longer. He reached over to squeeze his cheeks, and Hanagaki jerked, but didn't turn away.
"You-" his words chiding Hanagaki for his dumb questions and his stupidity were drowned out.
"Koko-kun," and Hanagaki laid his cold fingers over his on his face, "You're so warm!"
It's because of you, he didn't say.
"You're so embarrassing," he sighed, "Let's go."
