Types of Supersets to be Included in Your Workout
To put it out simply, supersets are a combination of two exercises simultaneously with very less or almost no rest in between. An example of it would be a set of bicep curls and following it with tricep dips next. The ones who are short on time at the gym often prefer these.
The types of supersets are as follows:
1. Antagonist – Pairing up of two opposite sets of muscles is involved in this. Bicep curls can be combined with tricep curls or leg extensions can be juggled with deadlifts. As one set of muscles get the squeeze, the other set rests.
2. Agonist – This involves combining two similar groups of muscles like chest press with push ups. These are highly demanding sets but these enhance the training volume while intensifying the workout.
3. Unrelated Supersets – Completely separate muscle groups are involved in this. This leads to completion of more sets in a lesser span of time.
A word of caution to throw out there would be to pair up the core muscles with other exercises as these are the ones which help in lifting. Not following this might lead to burning your ebergy out completely.
