If your requests are still open, can I request headcanons of the reader teaching the MK1 Earthrealm Champions how to skateboard?

A/N: Let me be honest, I'm not familiar with skateboard culture, nor skateboarding in general. I never bothered to pick up skateboarding after falling so hard trying to that I couldn't hear anything except a ringing in my ears for some minutes. So I hope I did this alright! 😅

Johnny Cage

After having Kenshi break into his house to try and rob him, then you breaking in after the former Yakuza to KILL said former Yakuaza, and then having two ninjas and a Fire God show up at the door, Johnny thought that nothing could really surprise him anymore. While not as mind-blowing, the action star didn’t expect to find you skateboarding by him between lessons with the monks. This resulted in him receiving a black eye from Kenshi for being distracted during that split second.

Afterward, using some foundation to cover up the bruise, Johnny approaches you to strike up a conversation. Johnny learns from you that Liu Kang allows you to skateboard around the Wu Shi Academy, as long as it's not during training or when others train. You demonstrated by skating circles around the action star while speaking with him.

While it's been years since he's even been on a skateboard, since at least high school, Johnny still knows the basics of how to use a skateboard. He demonstrates this to you after somehow talking you into letting him borrow your skateboard, with the apparent threat to break his kneecaps should he break your beloved board.

When you complimented that Johnny's skating ain't half bad, the action star decided to take it up a notch and attempt an Ollie. You tried to warn him against doing it, given how Johnny just ADMITTED how he hasn't practiced in years.

Yet, with the need to impress you and maintain his pride, Johnny tried to do an Ollie. This went about as well as you expected, as not only did Johnny fall onto the concrete flat on his BACK, but your skateboard also fell on his face when he was already down. To Johnny's credit, this humiliation didn't stop him from trying to skate again. Next time he did, though, he asked you to teach him how to do a proper Ollie, promising to listen this time.

Raiden

Given that Fengjian is a farming village with paved dirt roads, it was meant to be something other than a place for skateboarding. The young man had never seen a skateboard in person before Raiden left his hometown to further his training with the Shaolin Monks. You were already a great fighter in your own right, yet your mastery over your skateboard between training lessons with the monks intrigued Raiden.

You saw how Raiden would stare at you for long intervals whenever you passed by him from one place to another, specifically whenever you rode your board by him. After speaking with him during mealtime, you learned that the farm boy had never seen skateboarding before leaving home. You may or may not have blushed when Raiden complimented you as a great skater despite you brushing it off, explaining it's just something you did to help concentrate during training.

When you offered to teach Raiden how to skateboard, he humbly agreed and added that it also looks fun. Yet, Earthrealm's champion didn't expect how daunting it would be to stand on a wooden board with four wheels. It didn't help that you were also watching him and able to observe all of his failed attempts to just skate from one side of the courtyard to the other.

Not to mention, he kept getting in his own way, cautious of falling off your skateboard. Raiden was wary of crashing to the point that he would just jump off the board, whether it was mid-skate or learning to make a turn. You make a note to grab Raiden a helmet and knee pads to ease his mind somewhat.

Nonetheless, you were patient with Raiden as you slowly walked him through the basics. You let him hold on to your shoulders as he tried to figure out how to balance on your skateboard, and you even held him by the hips as he started to move.

Kung Lao

Like Raiden, Kung Lao had never seen skateboarding before leaving Fengjian. Sure, he'd heard some inkling about it whenever some relatives from the nearest city came over to visit, but that's about it. He never gave it much thought beyond that and only thought he would take up a board once you challenged him.

You offered to show Kung Lao how to use a skateboard while teaching Raiden how to use yours. But the monk rejected your offer, stating that he did not need a board with wheels when his abilities and training gave him all the speed he'd ever need. In retaliation, you said it was alright, given that you knew Raiden would do better than Kung Lao even IF the former chose to learn from you. Kung Lao finally accepts your offer, not wanting to be second best to Raiden again, confident he can master the board faster than Raiden.

To Kung Lao's credit, he took to the board reasonably well with outstanding balance and wasn't as worried about crashing as Raiden, meaning he wasn't as afraid to try some tricks. The monk quickly picked up the basics and even performed some tricks, such as a fakie reverse, hippie jump, half flip, and even a Casper tre. Kung Lao can add flair to his skateboarding tricks thanks to his ability to teleport with sakura petals in his wake.

However, despite his excellent balance and style, Kung Lao ran into one speed bump regarding skateboarding. He had trouble turning on the skateboard, specifically making quick turns that weren't slow wide arcs.

While it did frustrate the monk that he didn't completely master skateboarding, you admitted to Kung Lao that he impressed you for someone who had never seen a skateboard until coming to the Wu Shi Academy. Both you and Raiden complimented Kung Lao for how quickly he did learn skateboarding. The monk admitted that he only picked up the sport so fast because you're a good teacher. While touched, you then playfully roll your eyes when Kung Lao claims that he'll likely surpass you in your own sport if he kept practicing.

Kenshi Takahashi

In Japan, skateboarding is a popular sport that gained traction in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Kenshi dabbled in skateboarding as a boy and a young teen. He wasn't an Olympic champion at the sport, but he did know the basics and how to do a trick or two. However, when Kenshi became more involved with the Yakuza, he had less time to skateboard and eventually dropped it entirely.

When he first saw you skateboarding during your months preparing for the Tournament at the Wu Shi Academy, he was reminded of his youth. However, you wouldn't let him forget what he's done as a younger man to you and your family, not that he blames you for it. Kenshi knows he deserves your loathing. Yet, after losing sight, making friends with Johnny Cage, and being given Sento, Kenshi became a changed man afterward.

Eventually, Kenshi approached you in private, as you were skateboarding around an empty courtyard, to formally apologize to you and ask for forgiveness. He knows you lost so much because of him and doesn't expect you to forgive him, but Kenshi at least wants to let you know he felt remorse for what he did in his past. Yet, having also grown, decided to forgive him, not immediately but slowly over time. You start by talking about skateboarding.

While you were initially reluctant to let Kenshi on your prized skateboard, seeing as you don't know how much Sento let's him "see", you eventually let the blind swordsman have a go. Granted, you stayed by his side as he started to ride the board in case he fell over. You tried your best to instruct the rusty Kenshi step by step on the board, such as mounting it, and dismounting it, pushing the board, and stopping.

For Kenshi's part, while it was initially strange not to have his feet on the ground with Sento guiding him, everything he ever learned about skateboarding swiftly returned to him. Soon, Kenshi was making full turns without your guide, even going as far as to show off by doing an ollie. You clapped in encouragement as he landed back on the board without issue, your grin matching Kenshi's own. The latter feels like he reclaimed some part of a childhood he had long lost.

Hear me out (although this might be a common thought in the fandom): blindfolded kisses with Din to get around the “can’t show your face to any living being” part of the creed…

YES!!! It would be so meaningful to know he trusts you enough to take that step and hot to have your senses cut off with a blindfold. Just the feeling of his lips against yours.... 🫠

I think every Din Djarin lover has thought about ways we'd get around the helmet conundrum. I know I have! I mean there are so many ways to get around it. Turning the lights off, Din covering your eyes with his gloves, or taking his helmet off while he stands behind you so you can't see his face. I read one where he took his helmet off and you could see his profile as a shadow against the wall and that was so hot toooooooo!! I love how creative people can get with solving this particular hurdle and letting us live out our fantasies with him 👀

I wrote about this particular method of using a blindfold in a oneshot called A Crisis of Faith!! There's a long build-up to the moment but it was nice to imagine Din wanting to take that step with someone and finding a way to overcome it!

Since your requests are open: could you do a fic about MK11 Fujin hearing the reader sing and he thinks it’s absolutely beautiful, so the reader does a mini concert with just him watching?

If you need certain songs to put into this, I got you:

A/N: Thank you for the songs and for my first fic request that doesn't involve my usual Mortal Kombat men! I hope I do Fujinn justice, as he seems like a chill dude. Oh! And for the song in this fic, I went with "The Voice" by Celtic Woman. I'd thought it would be fitting with its elemental lyrics. I'll also try to keep these requests as gender-neutral as possible unless specified otherwise.

The Voice

Being the god of the Wind came with many perks. Not only is Fujin granted with divine power, but also the ability to fly and ride on the winds to wherever he desires. Currently, the wind god has no specific location where he desires to reach. Fujin is currently content with riding the winds on a rare peaceful day in Earthrealm, with no sign of an upcoming attack from Outworld's inhabitants. That is until the demi-god caught wisps of a melody within his breeze. The melody carried soft notes with an almost haunting quality to it. Fujin eases his winds to a halt within a forest, waiting to hear more of the melody.

His patience is rewarded when he hears it dancing on the breeze again. Fujin judges by the volume of the music, its source isn't too far from him. With footsteps light as the wind he commands, the demi-god treks through the woods, the music becoming louder and clearer with each step he takes. Eventually, his search takes him to a clearing with some mostly smooth boulders in the center. On top of those boulders sat a young adult Earthrealmer plucking at the strings off a worn but loved fiddle. They occasionally would play some notes before following them by singing in possibly the most beautiful voice he's ever heard in all of his existence.

"I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain. I am the voice of your hunger and..."

The earthrealmer trails off before letting a huff of frustration which is when Fujin decided to make his presence known.

"Why did you stop?"

"Gah!"

You let out a shout in surprise, fumbling with your fiddle and bow as they almost fell from your arms. Fujin holds up his hands in a placating manner as he takes another step into the clearing with a soft expression on his face.

"Forgive me, I didn't mean to startle you,"

"Are you blind?"

You cut off the strange looking newcomer, taking in his bright pale eyes and long silver braid.

"Pardon?"

"Your eyes. They're really white as if you're blind. Are you?"

Fujin gives an amused grin.

"No and I am glad. Otherwise, I'd never get to see you sing err..."

"Y/N, the name's Y/N. Do you have one too, stranger?"

You are quick to ask as you turn your head away from the tall and handsome newcomer, hoping he doesn't see your flustered expression.

"My name is Fujin."

The demi-god decides to leave it at that, for now, not wanting to further surprise you and possibly drive you away by revealing his role as one of Earthrealm's divine protectors and god of the wind.

"So Fujin, you caught me at a bit of a bad time,"

"And why is that?"

Fujin gently asks. You look around at anything but the newcomer, while running your fingers along your bow.

"Well, I'm supposed to be composing a song. I have the notes but I don't quite have all the words."

"If it helps, your singing is very beautiful."

"Oh uhhh, thank you."

You blush as you start to absentmindedly pluck a few notes of your fiddle. Fujin is now just a few feet away from you, close but with respectable distance between you.

"I would like to listen to more of your work, if you'll allow it."

"Sure! Uh- I mean- I mean, sure. That would be wonderful. I could use a muse anyways."

You then stand up on your feet, realizing how you're only just slightly taller than Fujin with the platform beneath you. You dust yourself off, you then hop onto a higher boulder. After making a few adjustments with your fiddle's strings, you start to sing.

Fujin was fortunate enough to snatch snippets of your singing while he was riding the winds, but those pale in comparison to hearing you right in front of him. Your voice is strong and proud. It is ethereal and eerie. It is as if listening to the Elder gods sing themselves.

When you start to play your fiddle for the musical segment of your song, you jump down from your boulder to start skipping around the clearing. You almost appear to be floating on air, and actually do at one point, but you hardly notice as you're too engulfed by the music. Around you and Fujin, the wind starts to blow and picking up the fallen leaves, filling the clearing with a myriad of warm colors.

"I am the Voice of the past that will always be filled with my sorrows and blood in my fields!

I am the Voice of the future! Bring me your peace... Bring me your peace and my wounds... They will heal."

Throughout your mini concert, Fujin's gaze never wavered from your form as if trying to commit every move and gesture to memory. As you paint a rhapsody with your body but write a requiem with your song. At last, it comes to a stop and so the Demi-god does the only thing he could think to do and claps.

You give a beaming smile at Fujin before taking a pantomime bow.

"Thank you, thanks for being such a great audience and muse."

You then blow him a kiss, which Fujin playfully pretends to grab before stuffing it in his pocket.

For a while afterward, you and Fujin sat together on a warm day, discussing anything and everything that came to mind, including hopes, dreams, and aspirations. Fujin reciprocated, to the best of his abilities, without outright telling you his divine nature, as he told you about his brother and travels. You weren't typically one for conversation, but something about the odd stranger made you feel at ease as if you knew him forever rather than for a few hours. Unfortunately, your time with Fujin was cut at the sound of a ringing bell calling you away, which you found yourself reluctant to answer. Your new friend notices this and gives you an encouraging smile.

"Go, your audience awaits."

"B-b-but they're not you. What if they don't like the song? What if I get up on stage and mess everything up? What if-"

Fujin rests a hand on your shoulder, while giving you an encouraging smile.

"You'll do wonderful, take it from me. I have heard many songs on the wind throughout my travels, but no song contain's your voice's passion and talent."

You blush as you flexed your fingers against your fiddle.

"T-thank you, Fujin."

You bite at your lip as you look between your fiddle's case and your new friend, brows furrowed in thought. Ultimately, it's now or never since it's not often a handsome stranger randomly shows up to act as a muse for your music and then decides to befriend lil ol' you.

"Maybe you can come see my performance sometime?"

You then add frantically as you feel the back of your neck heat up.

"Only if you want though! I know you and your brother are often with travels and everything, and I don't want to be a hindrance to either of you!"

Fujin gives a chuckle before softly replying, his eyelids hooded.

"I would love nothing more; for future reference, you're never a hindrance."

You abruptly stood up and started to make your way toward town, trying your best to hide how giddy your new friend's words made you.

'Don't blow this out of proportion! He's just being nice! He just likes your music, nothing more!'

But you didn't speak any of your thoughts; instead, you said a little too quickly as you bid Fujin goodbye.

"I'll see you later then! My village is only a few minutes walk south from here! I'll be performing in the square, it's a raised stage so you can't miss it, see you soon!"

"I'll see you then."

Fujin replies as he watches you go, before leaving shortly after.

On your way to the village, you found it to be windier than earlier, yet it wasn't unpleasant as it blew through your hair and cooled your body under the warm sun.

Fave Mortal Kombat fatality?

Off the top of my head for MK11 fatalities in no particular order:

Mileena's Violent Delights: Where Mileena rips off her opponent's face through their stomachs. Something about it just fits Mileena as if she's saying, "If I can't have a face like yours, then I'll TAKE it myself!".

Shang Tsung's Condemned the Damned & Shokan Reborn: The first is where Shang Tsung chains an opponent mid-air before summoning a portal where out pops the zombie versions of his followers. Who then proceeds to tear into the opponent's underbelly until ultimately ripping off their face and TEARING out their skeleton! The second one is where Shang Tsung summons an orb of bright light (striking a sexy pose) before tossing it into the opponent's chest. When it hits them, their entire chest lights green before Kintaro (A kitty cat Shokan) tears his way out of the opponent like they're a cramped meat suit!

Spawn's Rest in Pieces & Unchained: These fatalities are straight out of Todd McFarlane's Spawn Comics. The first has Spawn using his cape to cover the victim's head before lifting them in the air by said head. Spawn then uses his chains to penetrate the opponent in multiple places but cannot see or brace for where the next chain will make its mark. The opponent can finally see their demise when Spawn lights the chains up with Necroplasm and tears the opponents in ALL directions. The second one has Spawn sending his chains into the ground to appear under his opponent and start wrapping around them before they spin around with enough force to peel their entire skin (save for their head) from their body like a meaty potato. Then, as the opponent falls back to the ground and tries to process all the sensations that now come with having most of their skin ripped off, Spawn engulfs them with his cape. We don't see what he does within that cape, only the end result. Which tears all the flesh and organs from their bones in a gloriously grotesque fashion!

Now for MK1 at the time of this post:

Baraka's Grilling with the Boys: Baraka disembowels his opponent before launching them in the air, then lights a fire on the ground. That's followed by him grabbing the end of their intestine to hang off some invisible support to suspend them over the fire! As if that's not bad enough, Baraka then calls in his fellow Tarkatans to rip off all the opponent's limbs while they're still being roasted alive and eating them! Their opponent is still alive and screaming in pain!

Ermac's Soul Snack: Ermac uses magic to push his opponent's soul out of their body before separating their torso and legs because he's not hungry for flesh. No, because he's so eager for his snack, Ermac unhinges his jaw like SCP-096 (The Shy Guy) to suck the person's soul. That person's soul could only fall to the ground and try to grip the material plane to somehow escape a hungry ghoul. Yet, it does not matter as Ermac's soul hole is basically a black hole, and he ultimately gets his snack.

Gera's Timey Wimey: Geras summons a time portal to rip off the future opponent's head and spine, then uses it to SMASH the present opponent's jaw off. Geras then hands the head to the present opponent, who only now realizes that the head they're holding looks exactly like them. And just as they're realizing what their future holds, a now-past Geras opens up a time portal to tear the head of their opponent.
