Accomplishments in Medor, Haiti
Between January-June 2023 Medor's agroforestry program conducted 22 kombits to maintain the community's ten tree nurseries and to transplant some 124,000 trees. A kombit is a traditional Haitian work party in which people work together to achieve specific work goals. An average of 76 farmers participated in each kombit. The kombit tradition provides a wonderful reminder of the importance of joining hands to achieve great things.HAITIAN PROVERB: “Men anpil chay pa lou” (Many hands make the load light)
