“He healed my healthy leg!”

Faith healing rarely helps amputees or balding men, so I’ve been generally skeptical of the whole business.

A recent account by City Harvest Church’s convicted Pastor Kong Hee described a healing that took place in Malaysia on 16 February 2016.

I suppose to lend credibility to the tale, the chosen subject is described as a lawyer of the High Court in Sabah & Sarawak. 

On that basis, one might assume that he would be able to tell the difference between his right leg and his left leg, especially after suffering pain and discomfort for almost half a year.

As you can see, initially the afflicted leg was on the left side;

Eventually getting to the service, our lawyer then says, “During the service the Pastor begin to pray for sick people and told everyone to place their hands wherever it was they were sick... ie heart, cancer, skin diseases etc. He didnt say anything about joint pain or legs etc.”

So guess which leg he places his hand on...

You might say that this is just a typo, and yes, that is possible.

However, considering that this person has spent almost half a year in discomfort, and then experienced divine intervention resulting with a miraculous healing, it would be reasonable to expect that there would be no confusion regarding which leg was involved.

Furthermore, as he says he is a “columnist in Borneo Post”, he should possess some skills with proofreading for factual accuracy (not to mention grammar).

Remember, he is describing a life changing and rare miraculous event, he is a lawyer and a columnist. This is his testimony of divine intervention. He would want to be sure the facts are correct and the content is lucidly presented, wouldn’t he?

But no. The facts do not align. The grammar is faulty. Hence, doubt is generated.

A prudent person would be wise to take a skeptical view of any claims involving a person such as Kong Hee who has been convicted of fraud in a court of law.
