I really can't believe black myth wukong Erlang Shen is THE mourning widow.

He is a glazer and a yearner for Wukong what the hell...

I am REALLY baffled actually. They make me sappy.

Now I wanna know how the hell did go their last discussion about the plan. How was their last moment together before fooling everyone.

Was there any sadness? Was there a silent acceptance? Was there laugh to ease the pain? Was there any longing, pain and sorrow that they didn't share bcs of the circomstances but they felt it in their hearts?

Did they share some last drinks together while remembering the past before they go their own way to prepare for their secret plan? Did Wukong told him "For the last relic, my Mind, I want you to have it. To bare it. You are the only one I can trust enough to keep it from harm."

Did Erlang said anything about it? Or did he just accept it silently while he tries to not think what would he do after Wukong "dies"? Even tho it's for the better, the greater good? To make sure Wukong will finally be entirely free? Because both of them hates the heavenly court?

What if they just stayed together in silent, for some time, hesitating, not about what will happen, but about their own feelings? What if they failed to say what they truly wanted bcs it would be too painful? What if Wukong teases him one last time, and told him that he will find him in this exact same spot where they are when he eventually return? That maybe he will be in another form, in another body, with another story, but he will still come to this place only to wait for Erlang, because there is a lot he wanted to tell him?

What if after Wukong dies, and Erlang goes to Mount Mei after doing his part of the job, after telling his master that he is feeling an internal turnmoil, he felt a deep emptiness in his heart after some times? Did he stayed there for hundreds of years? Longing? Mourning him?

Did he cried at some point? Letting the tears falling from his eyes silently, as he watch the snow falling from the sky?

What if he thinks that even tho the monkey king will return, it will still not be "Him" so he felt like he lost him for good? Like he will be in this state of mourning forever? But what if after fighting the DO, after he gave him the memories and mind of Wukong, after being at peace, and leaving Mount Mei after some times, his steps guide him, slowly but surely, to the spot when they last talked?

Maybe he is hesitating, maybe he doesn't want to be too hopeful, but he still goes to that same spot. To see. To be sure. To look.

And then...what if he found Him there? Whole again? In another body and with another story, but it's still him nonethless?

"I told you that I will come back to this place and see you again."

What if?
