Got this comment and... It is honestly disturbing that some people in this fandom feel guilty or afraid for shipping HankCon.

This is a fictional ship between two adult-presenting characters with a strong canon bond and a relationship that can develop into friendship in the game. There is nothing inherently harmful or disgusting about reading that emotional connection romantically. And yet HankCon is often treated as if it is something people should be ashamed of. Not just "I don’t like this ship," but actual guilt, insults, moral pressure, and people being made to feel like they are doing something wrong for enjoying a harmless fan interpretation.

That is not normal.

This fandom has countless ships, rarepairs, AUs, fanon dynamics, and interpretations based on much less canon material. People ship whatever they want all the time. But somehow HankCon is the one that gets treated like it needs to defend its existence in court.

A popular headcanon is still a headcanon. Repeating fanon loudly enough does not turn it into canon, and it does not give anyone the right to shame people who see the relationship differently.

No one should feel dirty, guilty, or afraid for shipping two fictional adult characters together.

HankCon is not wrong just because some people decided to treat it like it is.

I think the guys who say "Not everything has to be romantic, can't two guys just be normal friends." are probably the same guys who say that people of the opposite sex cant be friends and that those friendships always turn romantic and/or sexual. Anyways, ship whatever the fuck you want, they're not real people so it doesnt fucking matter. You want it to be romantic then make it romantic, you want it to be platonic then make it platonic, just dont tell other people what to do with their headcannons and shipping stuff, people need to stop fucking gatekeeping fun.
