Naruto Juunen Hyakunin
AU where Team Dosu lives and Dosu ends up meeting a cute cinnamon roll named Harune Iida who has a prosthetic right arm because she was born without one. Her voice is the only one that he can hear without using his ear implants to block out some of the sound. She is his “healing sound” and she’s the sweetest thing who loves him for all he is.
“You’re scarred, but you’re not ugly, Dosu. For all the things about yourself that you feel insecure about or that you hate, I love you for them. Because I love you.”
Proof that my mind wander too much: Naruto theory 101
@rinrinp42 I wasn’t kidding when I said that I have a headcanon even for the giant squid. Please ignore the lack of logic.
The giant squid that attacked Naruto and company when he meet Killer Bee was actually a summon from one of his late relatives.
Before Uzushiogakure fell one of the Uzumaki, who had signed the contract with the squids, summoned his most loyal friend and gave them the mission to protect the members of his village who were escaping while the rest keep busy the enemy ninjas. The giant squid sank the invader army to give time to the rest to leave. In that moment he make a vow that no one would hurt an Uzumaki on the sea, vow that he would keep even after it felt his dear summoner falling on battle.
Over the years this loyal squid would keep an eye for any trouble the Uzumaki may have on their territory, listening what the sailors say about what was happening on the surface. More than once he felt the chakra of someone he used to know being cornered and took care of the menace for them. Also one of the things they did after Uzushio fell was hunt down the invaders and drown them on the deep of the sea, later leaving their rests to some hungry and desperate fish, they weren’t going to eat that filthy thing.
They knew the names of some of the Uzumaki since their dear friend had the habit to call them every time he became a father or grandfather to introduce them to the last addition to his family; sometimes he'd even summon them right after the birth much to his wife and kid’s exasperation. The squid keep extra alert when someone mentioned the name Uzumaki and one day by chance it hear a group of enemy nin mention one of the last children’s he meet: Kushina.
Sadly they were too close to the shore to be of much help but when they came back and it feel the imprint of her chakra they didn’t hesitated to sank their ship with everything that was inside, looking carefully at their faces and the headband they wore to recognize the people of their village for future references.
A couple of decades later they were traveling to visit a giant turtle they become acquaintances over the years when they felt their chakra. An Uzumaki who they never met was close to their location.
Careful to not being caught it sailed to their way until they reached a tiny boat with five people on it: Two old ones who looked like civilians, a scarecrow look-alike ninja and three kids. The first two weren’t anything especial (if it could they would shake their head about how low the ninjas must've fell if with those tiny reserves they let them out of school) but the third one…
Even if he look different that his ancestors, the squid would never mistake the feeling of his chakra, that unique mix of wind and sea and iron that they had missed so much. An Uzumaki, but not any Uzumaki, a direct descendant of their dear summoner.
For future references, if you are in pain or having any type of health (physical or mental) crises, and have been previously banned from the hospital the ban is lifted.
