For transgender ‘brides’, a marriage with the deity in this Tamil Nadu village

Every year, thousands of transgender persons gather at Koovagam, around 200 km from Chennai, for a two-day temple festival that witnesses a ritual union with their patron deity

En quasi direct (avec juste 2 ans de décalage), de Kovagam - Tamil Nadu, voici le mariage d'une personne transgenre dans le petit temple bondé et surchauffé. Le mariage est célébré par un prêtre Hindou qui vient de nouer, autour du cou, le cordon nuptial jaune. Ce mariage est symbolique. Un divorce sera prononcé demain, et les cordons seront coupés.
