Random sheet mask review: No:hj Aqua Soothing Maskpack Marine Collagen (that homepage is buggy as f)
Ingredients: don’t know, except they look short on the package in Korean, and KoreaDepart mentions some, like hyaluronic acid, ceramide, witch hazel, and of course, marine collagen. I assumed it’s safe for me based on the Hyaluronic acid version’s ingredients.
What it says on the package: “Tencel. 25 g Essence. Made in Korea” is all I can get, and I want to screech “LIIIIIIEEEEESS!!” at some of that tbh.
Well, ladies and gentlepersons, this is a dud. When I patch tested it, I admired how thick and gel-like the essence was, but thought the package felt strangely light for 25 g. Turns out, when I ripped the package open, there was barely any essence left. It was actually difficult to pull the mask out of the envelope, since there wasn’t enough liquid to lubricate it. It’s the driest sheet mask I’ve encountered, barely 10 minutes in and it’s too dry already, and I don’t think it was meant to be like this. The date stamp is very hard to read, but I think it says this mask’s best before date was January 13, 2017. Thanks a lot, KoreaDepart. I should file a complaint tbh, as this cost me twice the price of a basic, decent mask.
It didn’t smell off at least, but the smell is less fragrance, more some kind of solvent. I’ve tried one in the same series before, which was ok, but I don’t remember that mask being this large fit-wise. This one is hefty as f, and while it seemed pleasant and thin, it was too dry to smooth over too well, and there was so much of it that there were creases.
Among my overall lows in sheet mask experiences. Don’t think I’ll bother with the brand again, as KD, which can’t be relied on to keep check of its stock’s expiry dates, is the main place that sells it.
