Popular Sports Korea Is Known For

1. Archery 

South Korea has dominated the sport of archery at International level, winning the most medals at the Olympics Games as compared to any other countries in the world. Korea has been consistently having strong performances in other international tournaments. Famous Korean archery players are Oh Jin Hyek and Kim Woo Jin. 

2. Volleyball 

In South Korea, where men and women teams compete in the professional V-League, volleyball is incredibly popular. Athlete Kim Yeon Koung is the best volleyball player in South Korea and was the first Asian volleyball player in history to receive the MVP award in the CEV Women’s Champions League. 

3. Baseball 

South Korea is one of the regular participants in the World Baseball Classic and considered as one of the best countries in international competitions. There is also an active baseball cheering culture in South Korea. One of the most baseball players is definitely Korean Monster from LA Dodgers Ryu Hyun Jin.

4. Football 

The Korean national football team was the first team in the Asian Football Confederation to get into the FIFA World Cup semi-finals in 2002. They have been a powerful team ever since the Mexico 1986 World Cup. Son Heung Min is the star player who brought glory to South Korea and no one doesn’t know who he is. 

5. Basketball 

Basketball is another sports that is gaining popularity in South Korea. At the Asian Basketball Championship, the South Korean national basketball team set a record by taking home 25 medals. Ha Seung Jin who played there from 2004 to 2006, is the only Korean player in the NBA to date. 

6. E-Sports 

South Korea has been a stronghold for E-sports, with the OnGameNet Starleague and Proleague being the most noteworthy leagues in E-sports that are sponsored by large corporations. The Korean E-sports Assoictation, a division of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism was also established to promote E-sports within the country.

Have no clue about what Baseball and its leagues are. Had to Google what on Earth 'Hot Stove League' means. But what can you not learn when Nam Goong Min is there learning about Baseball along with you. He joins the failing and falling baseball team 'Dreams' after their last loss and makes the 'Hot Stove League' super hot with his blazing decisions as the General Manager of the team. He has very little knowledge about Baseball, but before this he has taken different sports team to win their respective championships. He's looked after a wrestling, hockey and handball teams, damn!! the variety and irrelevance to baseball. Well, whatever he looks dashing in suits and extra hot delivering those curt knife-like piercing comments. Leaving everyone with major burns. Can't wait to see this team reaching heights or whatever under his leadership.

Hot Stove League = off season time. The term comes from the heated conversations fans have around stoves during winters. Quite interesting!
