Photo of the Day – The Northern Black Korhaan (Afrotis afraoides) is a smaller member of the bustard family. The species makes use of elaborate courtship displays both in flight and on the ground. A single male will display to and mate with several females, leaving them to care for the 1-3 eggs alone. The male is extremely protective of his territory, fighting off any other male intruders by striking them with his wings.
