sono andata a controllare su prime per curiosità e hanno caricato (anche se ancora non sono visibili) gli episodi fino al 15.13. Ora mi vengono i dubbi...
Hello Laura! Can I ask: either 31 for Silverflint or 60 for Flinthamilton. Your choice!! Love your writing <3
Hi Ani! Thanks so much!! I decided on silverflint: “You may be an idiot, but you’re my idiot.”
—-
He knew it wasn’t supposed to beas difficult as the mathematics he was forced to learn at the orphanage’sschool. They were just maps, after all. But then there were coordinates andlots of guess work he had not been expecting.
Flint went over each of his chartswith him, day after day, trying to teach him. And Silver would always getflustered.
“I understand what you’re tellingme,” he bemoaned to Flint one afternoon in the cabin. His eyes were beginningto hurt from staring at the charts. “I just don’t see how I’m ever going tolearn if you don’t let me do it for myself.”
“You’re not ready,” said Flintevenly.
“I think I am,” Silver replied with a bit of defiance. “And besides, isn’t that how most pirates learn tonavigate? We don’t all have the luxuryof being navy trained, you know,” Silver added with a quirk of his eyebrows, letting a smile slip over his lips.
It had the desired effect. Half ayear ago Flint would have held a knife to his throat for such a remark. Nowhowever, his eyes hooded softly, moving all over Silver’s face in an easymanner. It sent a shiver down Silver’s back.
“All right. Fine,” said Flint. “Youcan plot the course to our next prize. Here.”
He pointed on the map spread outbefore them to an area northeast of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
“Most other ships will be huntingfurther west of here. There’s always a good chance of catching an unsuspectingmerchant vessel there.”
Silver eyed the area. It wasnothing but a blank spot on a piece of paper. He refused to let it intimidatehim. Flint was giving him a chance to prove himself.
“Consider it done,” he said. Then, rather than let the daunting task at hand plague his thoughts, he pushed themap away from them and slid in closer to his captain. Flint was giving him thatlook again. Silver shivered.
“Now if you don’t mind,” he said, touching Flint’s hand, “I’d like to fuck you before the dinner bell.”

He spent that night and a goodportion of the next morning planning their course. He wavered back and forthbetween confidence and utter despair, checking and double-checking all hiscalculations.
He had several talents he wasproud of since turning pirate, including the ability to manage the crew of TheWalrus entirely without its captain in recent weeks. But navigating a ship this size, he was loathe to admit, may or may notbe on his list of accomplishments. He would soon find out.
*
Flint woke up later than usual thefollowing morning, the sunlight bright as it streamed into his cabin. Hestretched and smiled to himself. It had been a dog’s age since he’d gotten tosleep in past dawn. He’d given Silver command of the ship and since he was plottingtheir course Flint had informed him not to wake him unless there was anemergency.
Silver had plotted their course. He groaned, smile fading. They hadsailed all night. He’d better get up and see where they were. With any luck, hefigured they’d be perhaps a few hundred miles from where they were supposed tobe.
He came out onto the deck. The daywas warm but cloudy. The breeze was coming in from the east. He heard theargument before he saw it.
Over on the portside railing stoodSilver with Mr. DeGroot, and neither sounded very pleased with the other.
“…And I told you, I took thedamned clouds into account!” Silver was saying belligerently. DeGroot rolledhis eyes.
“Oh for Christ’s sake…Captain!”
DeGroot turned to him, saying histitle with more relief than anything else. Silver turned too and Flint saw apotent fear flash through his eyes. Flint approached the railing and lookedout. There was a fairly large island in front of them that was not supposed tobe there.
“What’s the problem? Where are we?”
Both Silver and DeGroot spoke upat once.
“You are looking at Cockburn Town,”said DeGroot at last and giving Silver a deep frown. “Grand Turk Island.”
“Grand Turk Island?” Flintrepeated, baffled. It was worse than he had suspected. They were days off schedule.
“As I was trying to explain to Mr.DeGroot,” Silver said between clenched teeth, “The weather grew…unpredictableovernight.”
“It got cloudy,” DeGroot whisperedloudly over Silver’s shoulder.
“Mr. DeGroot you are excused!”Silver boomed at the ship master.
DeGroot gave an exasperated lookto Flint before leaving them. Flint felt his own anger dying down in lieu ofhow flustered his quartermaster appeared. Silver was practically panting, faceslightly flushed, nostrils flaring as he rambled on, gesturing angrily at theocean as if it had conspired against him.
“…And then I was up all fuckingnight trying to correct our course when fucking DeGroot tells me we have toslow down because we lost the bloody stars!”
Flint watched him, biting down asmile. At last Silver looked at him. He blinked.
“What the fuck is so funny?”
Flint said nothing but walked off, giving Silver a pat on his shoulder as he passed him.

Silver was reluctant to open hiseyes the next morning. He did not get a chance to see Flint in private the restof that day—the day of his navigational blunder—and Flint had stayed out on thedeck late that night. Now, as Silver turned over on Flint’s bunk he felt apresence next to him.
Flint was gazing at him softly.Somehow he’d slipped under the covers beside Silver last night without Silverstirring. The single wool blanket over his bunk now covered him at an anglejust above his nethers, giving Silver a tantalizing view.
He was happy to have him there.
Silver gaze back at him, gettinglost in those jade eyes. Then Flint drew his fingers through Silver’s hair, pushingthe locks away from his eyes and said, “You may be an idiot, but you’re my idiot.”
Silver pressed his lips togethertightly, trying to hide his smile.
“Fuck you.”
Flint raised an eyebrowsuggestively, and after that Silver forgot completely about his blunder, perfectly forgiven and content in Flint’sarms.
When you get this, reply with 5 things that make you happy and send it to some other people, so we can spread the happiness ✿ ✿ ✿
1.Cats. Not even just my cats, I really love cats in general. I follow like 12 cat pages on instagram lol.
2. The sea. I live near the sea so it’s a big part of my environment and it’s really calming to me. I get kinda stressed a lil when I can’t hear or smell the sea.
3.Reading. Even though I don’t read as much as I used to, I still really love it.
4. My friends. It’s nice to feel like I fit in somewhere.
5.Black Sails. I just have sooooo many feelings about this show but yeah it’s mostly happiness. I love all my pirate children.
I tag @lieutenantflint, @ryuutales, @bisexualpirateheart, @rackhamrogue and @complaininginthedark (if y’all want to)
koryuoftheriverflow replied to your post “But thank the universe that the spn finale aired when it aired...”
Idem. Questo finale mi ha risollevato il morale dopo endgame come nessun altro avrebbero potuto fare.
ESATTO
@daughter-of-the-rain-and-snow is watching Endgame on Sunday and ep 3 of Game of Thrones airs the same day and it’s going to be so heart-wrenching so I’m already sending morale-boosting vibes in her direction lmao
I mean, GoT is probably going to be sad in a good writing kind of way, Endgame is sad in a bad writing kind of way, but still :3
koryuoftheriverflow replied to your post “do you want to see something that is going to make you want to abandon…”
