Kotimaista (Finland)
Somehow we have yet another Finnish chip on the table. A cheap nothingburger brand no less. Let's dig in.
True to the packaging, they look extremely generic. Average size, average thickness. They got the snap and crunch they're supposed to, but have just enough grease to start softening after a few bites. That feature is something they share with the Oikia chips, and it's no surprise: They're both made in the same factory. At the very least this time the products are not clones of one another.
The similarities are apparent in the flavor though. Kotimaista is like the Charmander to Pirteä Britta's Charizard. Similar, good in the same ways, but ultimately lesser where it matters. The taste is much milder and has a more generic flavor profile. They're missing the umf if you will. The chips feel more dry and the potato has less taste.
From the description you might be fooled to think I don't like them. However, the fact that I'm even comparing them to Pirteä Britta to begin with is high praise. Being less good than a solid 9 is barely a flaw when most generic brands scrape themselves a 5 or 6.
