magolor request for @shrubspeare ! thanks for giving me the chance to go full yappathon mode LOL
magolor comes from a technologically advanced civilizaton that once frequently collaborated with other races, including the Ancients and Hyness' clan. following The Incident with the horned beast, however, they removed themselves from the known universe and moved to a secluded dimension that could only be found through highly sophisticated warp hardware
magolor was born without the lower half of his legs, which isn't super uncommon for his species but is still considered to be a rare genetic complication. unfortunately, being given access to mechanical maintenance and engineering did not temper his ambitions for magic in the slightest. he was a naturally gifted mage, something frowned upon by the general population after The Incident. upon being spurned from further pursuing magehood by the ruling council of sages, magolor, in a fit of rage, broke into the prohibited section of the capital's library and stole everything he could find that he thought had worth and fled into the wilderness for several years. this included a majority of the advanced tomes that mages used to be taught and the blueprints/coordinates for the lor starcutter. among the tomes was information on the master crown, which had once been given to their people in the past to wield
when he felt as though he knew enough magic to fend for himself in dangerous territory, he left the planet for halcandra, but we all know how that goes down
despite his preference for magic, he's still an extremely proficient mechanic! he does all the repairs on the lor himself. he has an aversion for working with gold material, though. maybe it has something to do with his family?
