Kowtow to new boss
Very tempted to start a series on my sideblog just to address Western misconceptions of Chinese culture.
For example "kowtow", kowtow/koutou/叩头 is literally just a gesture of utmost respect. You can kowtow to anyone who has helped you a lot to show your utmost appreciation, for example if a doctor saved a patient from the brink of death, the family of that patient might do a kowtow to let the doctor know how thankful they are. The misconception that "kowtow means prostrating yourself to those in power" is honestly a really pitifully shallow and laughable interpretation of the gesture.
"I feel so kowtow when I'm with you, through and through there is nothing I wouldn't do.. I would give you the moon just to be next to you."
I have an excessive eagerness to please you just to see one more smile, to see it with my heart and feels - eUë
