Koyane was born through magic means by a living statue and a mage. The pair of "parents" wanted to raise the hatchling as a living weapon, specifically made and trained to take down the King and Queen of the Butterfly Court. His "parents" didn't even give the hatchling a name, simply referring to him as "hatchling" or "boy", or even "the thing".
But, you see, the gods of Sornieth had other plans for the little hatchling.
One day, Koyane's "parents" decided to take the little boy on an outing to a market, the very first time away from the cave he was raised in. His mother left him with his father while she attended to some errands to get things for the next step in training the young hatchling. His father went to NarrowNight Tavern, with the hatchling in tow, because he had a meeting with several "friends" of his. Then, while the father and his friends got drunk on the fine ales and beers of NarrowNight, the little hatchling wandered out the doors of the tavern and into the streets, drawn away by a mysterious sound that caught his interest.
The sound turned out to be the jingling of tiny bells that bedecked a female Skydancer, who was traversing the large market with her male Skydancer companion. The pair took notice of the obviously lost hatchling, and took him aside, away from the hustle and bustle, to learn more of his situation.
The pair of Skydancers tried in vain to find the hatchling's parents, searching first NarrowNight Tavern and then the rest of the bustling market, but to no avail. So, with no other options left, the pair took him back to the rest of the Butterfly Court.
There, a discussion arose: what to do with the hatchling, and on top of that, what to call him. Many names were suggested, and many names were tossed aside. Finally, one name was presented: Finnian. The hatchling agreed to it, but stated in his tiny voice that one day he wanted to find his own name.
It was eventually decided that Finnian was to be raised as the King and Queen's own child.
Well over a year after that fateful day in the market, the hatchling - or rather, adult dragon, by this point - made an announcement to the entirety of the Court. He had finally figured out his name: Koyane.
Koyane is a very well-rounded young man, having dived into anything and everything that caught his interest growing up, from swordfighting to academia to cooking, and everything in between. He can often be found entertaining the hatchlings, helping out around the caravan, or with his mother and father. He is known to ask many questions, ever curious, and is known to be a kind, caring soul. The only thing left over from his childhood is a deep-rooted fear of the dark, and a burning hatred for his original "parents".
