all k-pop essentials: a playlist
Somehow I made a playlist {on spotify} which kind of has the entire history of K-pop, CHRONOLOGICALLY?? It has 2000+ songs, including basically anyone who has made an impact on the genre from 1995 - 2024, but there's mostly songs from 2011-2019 in there. Comment which ones i missed ^^
Seo Taiji and the Boys - come back home H.O.T - CANDY Uhm Jung Hwa - invitation parkjihoon - coming of age ceremony Fin.K.L - Now SHINWA - Wild Eyes Rain - Bad Man Rain - It's Raining Chae Yeon - Two of Us SHINWA - Perfect Man Lee Hyori - 10 Minutes SS501 - Warning Wonder Girls - Irony S.E.S. - I'm Your Girl BUZZ - Thorn IVY - A-Ha Girls' Generation - Into the New World BIGBANG - Lies BIGBANG - Haru Haru Wonder Girls - So Hot SHINee - Replay SHINee - Love like Oxygen TVXQ! - MIROTIC Girls' Generation - Gee T-ARA - Like the First Time Epik High - Love Love Love Super Junior - U Brown Eyed Girls - Abracadabra Super Junior - Sorry Sorry SHINee - Ring Ding Dong KARA - Mr.
There's a certain amount of drama that you get most strongly from second gen groups that is hard to find in later generations. This is just a b-side, but it goes as hard as any title track.
Also, I'm a bit of a whore for that violin.
More songs need a dramatic, cinematic violin backing up low-toned rapping.
[M/V] PRISTIN V(프리스틴 V) - 네 멋대로(Get It)
Can We Talk About The Impact The Songs SHINE-PENTAGON & LOVE SCENARIO-IKON HAD ON EVERYONE
I honestly wish that we were still in 2014-15 like i miss when the fandoms were calmer, literally so many bops were released in 2014-15 like mr mr, call me baby, run, loser, good boy, roll deep, eyes nose lips, cheer up, just one day, up and down, red, like a cat, growl, regret and a few songs i didnt like like Who's Your Mama? by jyp

2015 kpop is pretty nostalgic for me, since that was around the time I fully started to dive head first into kpop .. but I feel like 2018 holds a special place in my heart. NCT empathy era, Twice’s “dance the night away”, Momoland’s surprise hit “bboom bboom”, Pentagon’s “shine” craze, iZ*one’s debut, I could go on and on.
