Your life had come to a point where not much surprised you anymore. After having married a celebrity, you thought you’d have dealt with all of the extraordinary already. However, when you walked through your front door after a long day at work, you didn’t anticipate seeing your husband sitting in the middle of a hula hoop on the living room floor with makeup smeared all over his face.
Sheer panic spread through the man’s body as he watched you walk in. Before you could even find the right words to form a question, Hongjoong looks at you with pleading eyes, “The kids, they ambushed me.”
Right as the words left his mouth, the pitter-patter of footsteps began moving throughout the house. Leaving the mess of a man alone, you walk to your children’s room to see both of them giggling to themselves and pretending to read. You kissed them on their foreheads and picked up your three year old son, letting your five year daughter hold your hand as you lead them back to the living room.
“Joong, I don’t know what you’re talking about. The kids are being the sweetest little angels!” You exclaimed with fake enthusiasm.
“Babe, you’ve got to believe me! I swear, I’m not crazy!” He laughed, causing the children to laugh along with him. Hongjoong was a great father, one of the best you knew of his age. He let his kids play the boss, but he knew how to set boundaries. Above all, he made his kids feel loved and safe.
“Princess, can Daddy leave the circle of confinement so he can say hi to y/n?” He asked politely. With a nod of approval, your daughter lifts the hula hoop over her dad’s head and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Joong gets up and gives her a big hug, then makes his way over to you, pecking you on the lips.
“Hey, Love, does our five year old daughter know what confinement means?” You question, swiping some of the glitter eyeshadow off his cheek.
“Uncle Yunho came over yesterday and taught her how to hold me hostage with this ‘magical contraption’.” He says as he chuckles to himself, watching the kids run around with each other.
Kim Hongjoong was one of the sweetest men you knew. You wouldn’t ask to raise these children with anyone else but him.
