I absolutely cannot stand it.
It's probably my top 10 most despised films for me actually.
I made a post a year about the Jeoseong Saja, Korea's psychopomp mythology where they were guides to the afterlife.
I edited the surface of my thoughts about the Netflix film.
I don't like the puddle-deep, frantic writing, the tween "quirky adorkable" trope characters, or the Western/localization depiction of the Saja's. (Now, if they made it about Saja's going rogue, that would at least make the story a bit more...layered.)
That's just me though. I'm probably just not the right demographic.
I'm also a Korean who has K-pop fatigue so that adds to it.
NOW, if you give me content like the K-drama series like Kingdom, that's where my tastes are at.
Or!!
In my opinion, the best recommendation is the White Snake movies. The visuals and animation were stunning, and their story is mostly fleshed out with pretty good writing!
