They say timing is everything . Days before my flight to Japan, @eater published their first Eater Tokyo guide (probably timed for peak tourist cherry blossom season) . While much of my itinerary was already set, Tokyo can still be overwhelming so any guide is welcome . Oyakodon is one of my favorite comfort foods (I shared Sumika and their oyakodon dish on Check, Please! Bay Area) so Tsukiji Tori-toh was a must try spot . As tourists lined the nearby sushi venues, I walked in with only a local and was rewarded with an exquisite oyakodon and savory chicken broth accompaniment .
