“That’s called stealing, you know.”

                 “Is it still STEALING when the other person just leaves it out there for the taking? I mean — come on, if you want to keep something for yourself then you should maybe try protecting it.” There’s a smirk that follows her words, the orb being tossed between her hands. It wasn’t something that she wanted or needed, it was just a little game for her. Trying to outsmart HIM. It was always fun when she managed to do that, if only it was the same with their training sessions. “Do you want it back? Because if you do, I’m not seeing a whole lot of you trying to take it.”

“Oh, your strength gives me strength.”

                    “And what’s that supposed to mean? My strength gives you — yeah, no. Is this another of those wise training moments where I’m supposed to take the big old message in between what you’re saying? You know I’m not that in tune with the way you think. However, if you’re saying that I’m now stronger and that helps you FEEL stronger … I can accept that and I AGREE.”

                       “You have gotta be kidding me with this, right now. I thought I sent you back to KREE, what are you doing here? AGAIN?” Annoyance washed over her features as she found herself, once again, faced with the one who had trained her. It had all been a lie, something she was still bitter about after all these years of being away. “I don’t really have time to go through the battle talk with you  ---so, I’m gonna give you ten seconds to tell me why you’re here before I blast you back home. YOUR HOME, not mine.”

“ mini-cupcakes? as in the mini version of regular cupcakes? which is already a mini version of cake? honestly, where does it end with you people? “

                                       there’s   a   smirk   that   pulls   at   her   lips   and   something   like   a   laugh   that   threatens   to   bubble   up.   she   tosses   one   of   the   aforementioned   cakes   in   her   hand,   refusal   to   stand   still   with   so   much   energy   brewing   under   her   skin,   and   lets   the   smirk   show   openly.   “honestly ?   never.   there’ll   be   mini  -  mini  -  cupcakes   soon”   not   actually   sure   of   that,   and   it   might   even   be   too   far   for   her,   but   she   doesn’t   need   to   tell   him   that   “they’re   BITE   SIZE.   no   one   wants   a   whole   cake   :   usually,   anyway.”

“I DON’T need your help!” Carol snaps, jolting herself away from him immediately. He’s caught her at the WORST possible time she could have been found by her former commander. Blue blood– HIS blood– stains her body, and shows no sign of stopping. But the last thing she wants is him trying to help her, not after everything. He lied to her, kept her true life from her, attempted to ERASE everything that makes her human. She won’t allow herself to seem w e a k– she’s FAR from it, and she has absolutely NOTHING to prove to him, but she doesn’t need him thinking she needs his guidance again. She never did.

    “I’m fine. I don’t want your concern, either.” Can’t they just go back to the punching part already?

“Did you ever learn what fun is, Commander?” Her lips are tugged upwards into a mischievous smile, leaning against a nearby wall as she cocks her head to the side. Of course, Vers takes every MISSION seriously, putting up the best fight she possibly can ( he always says her EMOTIONS get in the way ), but nothing serious stands in the way of a bit of fun. 

            “We’ve been training all day, we’ve got a few seconds to spare. But if you wanna work so bad, c’mon, let’s fight.”
