#ThrowbackThursday: Nello Luchi - "The Nothing Special EP"
Released on 12.12.12, this past Saturday marked the 3rd anniversary of 'The Nothing Special EP'. Let's take a look back on the project and how it help to develop the Nello Luchi sound of today. This project featured amazing production by her team of producers @KriemScott ,@PhoenixSays, & @ShamTrax. The project started off with the Phoenix Says produced 'I'm Dope'. It features that eerie sound that we come to love from him. Nello tells her audience exactly what sets her apart from the competition. Next up is the K'riem Scott produced 'Wants & Needs'. The track features that classic NYC "boom-bap" sound. Nello raps about her ability to satisfies the listener's taste by giving them exactly what they "want" & "need" musically. 'It's My Time' features childhood friend and fellow artist/producer ShamTrax. The K'riem Scott produced track touched on Nello's affirmation of her pending success. The album turns up when @LilFridayHoe joins Nello on the uptempo 'They Wanna Know'. Friday's verse is fun and full of energy. ShamTrax then makes another appearance as he also produced the track 'I'm The Best'. Milwaukee-based artist @whatsupvon (Von Alexander/Vonny Del Fresco) is featured on 'Regular Sh*t'. Von has since created a huge buzz for himself within the emerging Milwaukee hip-hop scene. 'Ugly' served as the project's lead single. Produced by Phoenix Says, the track features his patented sinister sound with a little added bounce. The project ends with tracks 'F.O.H' & 'Biotch!', which happens to be favorites among most fans including Nello herself. The project was a dope body of work, which laid the foundation sonically for her current music Nello prides herself on being original and never falling into whatever is currently trending in Hip-Hop.
