Simple Complications #954
“Hi,” Ted said as he entered Krissy’s office. “Hey babe,” Krissy said. “What are you doing here? I said I was having to work late. I don’t care what Murshidah says, she does a heck of a lot of work around here, so with her away, I’m kind of swamped.” “Yeah, that’s why I’m here,” Ted said as he set food containers down. “With some takeout. Can’t go working all night on an empty stomach.” “Thanks, yeah, that’s a good point,” Krissy said as she grabbed the nearest food container. She opened it to find some sort of blue noodles with a purple sauce, and started eating. “So, what is Murshidah up to, anyway?” Ted asked. “Does it have something to do with why Ricardo was here the other day?” “I can’t really go into any details. Heck, I probably know more than I should, since I was the one initially asked to go on this mission.” “Oh?” “Yeah, and I just hope I don’t regret saying no.” “Why would you regret that?” “It’s a dangerous mission, and if anything happens to Murshidah, I’ll feel terrible.” “I mean, I certainly hope nothing happens, but if it does, it’s not your fault,” Ted said. “She can and does make her own decisions.”
