Taehyung looks up from the illegible scribbles on the scrap of paper in his hand up to the giant letters gracing the store he stands in front of. The giant glass windows are just as his instructor had described, and as he rereads the piece of paper again, he can distinctly make out the words Chapter One. Stuffing the paper into his pocket, Taehyung frees his hand to push open the door while his other is occupied by his bitter lemon drink. Despite its bitterness, Taehyung feels relaxed and comforted by it, almost as if the drink agrees with him on his views about the world. While he silently sips it through a straw, he wanders the first few shelves eying their titles and colors. Taking a moment, Taehyung looks around the store to see who is present considering the lack of noise or voices aside from the soft music playing in the background. He shrugs his shoulders as he continues down another path towards bigger shelves with bigger and heavier books. Despite being their only because of his instructor's orders, Taehyung takes his time to browse through the store to see if anything will catch his interest. He sees something from the corner of his eye and it takes his focus as he debates with himself if he should bother with it or not. In the few seconds that it takes him to think this through, his body is already moving back. Before he knows it, Taehyung feels himself colliding with a tower of books that had been stacked on the side of the shelf. Out of reflex, he reaches out to try and stop the books from tumbling to the ground. Of course, to his dismay, he forgets about the drink in his hand and it flies out of his grip during his unexpected reaction. Along with the books, his drink drops to the ground exploding upon contact before splattering across some of the new books. Taehyung doesn't remember the last time he was this distraught nor clumsy. As a body rounds the corner, Taehyung gulps out of fear as he sees their face. He's never met them face to face, but he's heard enough to know that the woman standing before him can make his life a living misery. The Goddess Nemesis, Lee Soomin.

The good thing about being able to do what he likes is that there is no pressure in having to actually do something unless he feels like it. Unless there is a project or something commissioned, Kyungsoo looks for what he wants to his camera pointing at. Selling his works is not difficult, he has a list of people ready to look at what he comes up with, eager to have it on magazines, ads, or anything really. The thing is that Kyungsoo is very selective and his taste may as well change according to his mood. Coincidently, his mood has been shifting so often lately that he may as well stay in his office, editing old photographs and sorting others out.

There is a catalog he has been working on for a week or so and his assistant mentioned something about a wedding shoot he agreed to but does not remember doing so. He usually does not do weddings, he has no idea what came to him, but he doubts he can cancel that now. Hopefully, he can stick to the pre-wedding photos only and someone else will do the ceremony.

A soft knock takes his attention away from the computer screen, directing his eyes to the door. He’s not expecting anyone nor in the mood for people to start barging in, so he simply glares at the door. Maybe whoever is there will read his mind and go away.

heedo got himself into this kind of situation quite a lot. not because he enjoyed bullies, but because he was simply an easy target for them. what with the fact he had hearing aids over both ears. that simple fact alone was enough to make him prime pickings for someone who wanted to pick in someone they thought were weak and small. unluckily for this idiot, heedo was neither weak nor small. okay, he was smaller than the guy currently heckling him, but he was hardly small for an adult male. 

and he was really not in the mood for this kind of bullshit today, either. 

at first, he had tried to just shoulder past the guy and get back on his way home, but that hadn’t worked in the slightest. the man was clearly drunking, throwing around rather offensive language and using his hands to shove heedo further and further back down the street until he was almost pressed back against the wall. and as the situation didn’t seem to be deescalating anytime soon (and because he was #tired of being shoved around) heedo simply decided enough was enough.  

he had performed the kick hundreds of times in the past he pulled it off without even having to think about it. swinging his leg around, his foot made contact hard to the drunkard's right side with enough force to have him stumble down to a knee. and that was when the tears started, the drunk idiot now crying at heedo’s feet as he clutched onto his side, wailing about having a broken rib.

   a vibrant aroma wafts around the cafe, seemingly extricated from the thick cream coating the surface of several mugs filled with a smooth, brown milk topped with chocolate crumbles. the tray is covered in a collection of opaque demitasses, but there is one that stands out from it’s effervescent companions. 

   the latte is perhaps the true pièce de résistance of the evening -- it sits within a bone china cup, an appealing leaf pattern drawn with delicate milky foam among the contrasting brown. it’s a far cry from the tall and frothy hazelnut that she had attempted this morning, but she’s thrilled that the fruits of her labor were finally beginning to take shape.

   “ it’s my first time serving latte art, so i’m sorry if it doesn’t look too great, “ yuqi says, a shy smile tugging at her lips as she rounds the tables and stops at one of the booths huddled in the back of the cafe. she adjusts the tray on her arm, nimble fingers reaching for the ivory cup in the center. “ it should still taste good though! “

   it was not a request that latte art be preformed, but yuqi had thought it would have been a nice gesture -- especially for someone who had seemingly trudged into the cafe just before the weather broke, slumping into the furthest booth from the door after placing their order.

   she leaves them with another cheery grin, encouraging them to taste their beverage before making sure to attend to the surrounding customers. she returns a few moments later, tray clutched to her chest in anticipation, and glances almost nervously to the young woman, “ did you like it? if not, i can get you something else. no charge, of course! “

   there’s a pause as the woman lifts her head, and yuqi blinks for a moment as recognition flashes across her irises, “ this might be a little forward, but .. do you live in studio 57 by chance? “

DIRGE - a habit, hobby, or obsession they can’t seem to shake

Jongdae is a creature of habit. He has his little ‘rituals’ and things he does every single time or things that have become habits somehow. He wouldn’t say he obsesses over things, so there isn’t one that fits that category, however, as far as habits go: cold showers. It doesn’t really matter if it’s winter or summer, Jongdae can’t shower if the water is hot. Since his ability has the particularity of being ‘on’ at all times, his body temperature is, by default, higher than most people. Under hot water he’d feel like a lobster in a pan, boiling, so he needs the cold to cool off and to feel comfortable. A big plus of this quirk is that he can get water to a lukewarm temperature, so it’s great for shared showers. He also makes it a habit to have a drink after every performance he does, maybe as a reward for doing okay with it; on the bad side of habits though there’s his smoking habit. He doesn’t consider it too bad because he doesn’t smoke a lot; two, maybe three cigarettes a day, usually after a meal or after a performance. It’s relaxing even though it may not be his best choice when it comes to health.

On the list of things he needs to do before the year ends is ‘befriend an exorcist’ or it would be if he had such a list anywhere else other than in his head. Lucky isn’t exactly Jongdae’s middle name, but he has been quite fortunate for the most part of his days (he gives credit to Baekhyun for that. dating the embodiment of luck has its perks too), but being unlucky is just a thing that happens -- a karma that won’t leave him, really.  Maybe he shouldn’t have lent his car to Kim from the club, but the kid was nervous and wanted to impress his date, so Jongdae gave in (he too was 20 and dumb once, so he understood the kid). He just thinks he should have told him he’d kick his ass if he drove carelessly or got a scratch on the vehicle. Instead, the kid went ahead and reared into a garbage truck -- with his date on the passenger’s seat -- and that should win the prize for the worst first date ever, but that also means Jongdae has his own car in his repair shop and is now on foot. 

He would be working on it, dismantling bent parts and polishing metal, but instead, he has been convinced to get out of his nest so he can breathe some fresh air. Honestly, he’s just convinced Soomin wants something, she wouldn’t call him to go out like that, he’s usually the one having to insist with her. Maybe shes sick. 

He spots her in the distance, bless his good vision (or the fact that she’s wearing something of a bright color, whatever), before he feels the fat rain drop on his naked arm. For some reason, he is not wearing a tank top, but his t-shirt is not any better when, in seconds, the rain starts to soak it. He looks up in disbelief and then towards the girl, noticing she is holding an umbrella. 

“What the fuck kind of witchcraft is this, huh? Is this how it’s gonna be all day?”
