@krwioholik || Post Tesham Mutna (bc you gave me the idea and I had to run with it :3c)
“Told you we should’ve had a safe word.”
Despite the winds rushing past, the rhythmic staccato of Roach’s hooves across the terrain, Geralt says this in a low rumble: what would be indecipherable if not for the proximity of the intended recipient (among other factors). He angles his head to better see around the weakened vampire huddled against his chest, readjusts the reins deftly between his fingers. With a gentle tug, the mare slows in the slightest. Just enough, it would seem, to make the ride that much smoother and more comfortable—even if it meant delaying the arrival to their destination.
Part of him, Geralt realizes, is angry.
A small part, mind: not enough to incite any real response beyond a characteristic huff that’s just as quickly carried off by the breeze. But if he had known— If Regis had been totally clear on this being actual torture—
Fuck. Well. That can only be why he didn’t say anything.
And Geralt knows, despite it all, he can’t in good conscience fault him for that.
“Steady now.” Equally possible the command—escaping as a soft sentiment—is directed at Roach or Regis. As Geralt senses a sway in his friend’s weight, he reacts in kind, twisting one arm to lightly bump Regis’s shoulder and keep him even somewhat upright on the saddle in front of him. But the next statement is far clearer. A promise. Uttered on more of a breath than a tone made of gravel:
“I got you.”

"That would be stealing. I'm just borrowing the saying from my husband."
Oil stained fingers tapped the canvas gently. Other painters, while she was studying in Oxenfurt, told her that when they painted, the rest of the world disappeared. For Lydia it was the other way around: when she painted, her eyes opened to everything.
The man's presence behind her wasn't making her uncomfortable. His tone was soothing and that kind of comfort went well with her painting-- a landscape. Her steady hand stretched, showing him the palette she was working with, as an offering.
"Pick a color. I'll add it, so I'll remember you when I see it"
She smiled at him, and the smile was filled with innocent joy and honesty. She would have not smiled if she knew that was the same man that tried to KILL her husband.
“Must be Regis, the Higher Vampire. Heard plenty about you back at Kaer Morhen from Wolf, after he got his memories back. Am down here visiting him at Corvo Bianco, seeing this land for myself. Put it off long enough, and I’m on the Path until I have to return to the Blue Mountains next Winter, so figured what the hell. Might as well go sight seeing.”
Eskel’s low, calm voice addressed the distinguished looking Higher Vampire, viper eyes studying him closely and carefully. He was one of the Vampires that was good at disguising himself, clearly, blending in among the folk and nobility in the South... well dressed, and appearing simply an older gentleman not out of place in Beauclair’s Palace. His power was such that he didn’t even set off Eskel’s enchanted medallion... and might have been able to fool the Witcher up close if he didn’t know already who the being was. He knew the ancient being could be trusted, as another friend of Geralt’s, but also wasn’t about to underestimate or drop his guard around so dangerous an entity. He’d seen more than his fair share of what bloodshed the Vampires of the upper tier could wrought, in their thirst, to say nothing of the recent attack by a horde of Vampires. But on the other hand, he had known the pleasant mouths of a number of Bruxa, in his travels on the Path. The best way to deal with upper tier Vampires when not contracted to fight them was to politely offer one hand... while arming the other, just in case. Eyes remaining on Regis, he gestured casually out over the surrounding lands of Toussaint, the sun already gradually dying over it... a good evening for hunting, completing more of the contracts he had ripped down off one of the bulletin boards in Beauclair.
“Not a bad land for contracts, good weather, food and drink too... but a bit flowery, knightly and chivalric for my tastes. Jousts and tournaments ain’t for me either. I tend to avoid the South... Nilfgaardian Empire is usually worse to Witchers down here than the Northern Kingdoms, and that’s saying something. This duchy seems to be a bit of an exception... but even so. I recall what was done to the three Witcher Schools that used to exist in the South. Take it this is a good place for a Vampire to remain undiscovered? Recent events notwithstanding.”
@krwioholik
"I need it! I need to drink! Let me go, let me drink! I need too, I NEED IT!" He roared, trashing in his bonds uselessly, taken over by thirst and need of his addiction.
Even though Ezekiel never wanted to be violent towards the boy, at that moment he had no choice but to grab the other vampire by the neck and lift him up. He held him firmly against the wall, while Emiel continued hissing and tried with all his might to free himself from the humanist grip.
Of course, Emiel didn’t have the slightest chance of escaping from Ezekiel. Yes, he could have dissolved into fog, but the room they were in was designed, that it would have been an agony to push through the millimeter wide door slit. Emiel had already escaped once - he had really managed to outwit the old vampire.
Again Ezekiel would not allow that. The thoughts of the past, of the moments when Khagmar’s eyes were saturated with red and he hissed like the boy under his grip now. “You won’t do anything you want to do. You are not weak, your addiction clouds your thoughts. You are not who you think - come back to me. Find your way back to yourself, Emiel.”

“ Ah... ”
It was a rare occasion indeed in which Regis was lost for words, but in this case, he believed it justified. To find Cirilla upon his doorstep was a pleasant enough surprise, considering that she had been a-wandering since her supposed death, but her guest was... somewhat beyond the pale.
Truly, he might have blamed an overindulgence of mandrake, or perhaps the inhalation of too many chemical fumes, rather than believe that such a thing was possible -- and yet here he was, sober as a judge, and while he had never seen his own reflection, he imagined that this was what he would see.
The same greying hair, the dark, dusty gambeson and gloves, even his satchel in the same place across his chest. All of it exact and all of it, at least to his eyes, alarmingly real.
He rather hoped Geralt didn’t find out about this. If the Wild Hunt hadn’t managed to kill her, he certainly would after this little stunt.
“ Well now. This is... unexpected. And rather awkward. ”

why do a regis when i can do all three?
@akindlymonster
first off, the mun is such a sweetie. i love love LOVE the little different ideas we bounce off each other, working on the relationship between regis and ellie as two long-time friends who pester one another. it’s always great to see more of a canon you love and i’m so thankful for this addition to the fold. each canon is portrayed in differing ways depending on the perspective of the mun writing them and each variation i’ve seen have been so wonderful. @akindlymonster‘s dialogue especially grips me and i LOVE their word usage and tone when writing their regis! augh, it makes me feel things
@krwioholik
oh dear this mun is also so sweet. i confide a lot in them and i treasure them dearly ; ; i don’t deserve their love and support and am thankful for the warmth they provide. their regis in particular is so wonderful and his interactions with ellie are always so sweet and give me warm fuzzy feelings. they are friends with benefits in their verse, and ellie (while she doesn’t have a swell of romantic feelings for him) has a special place in her heart for him. every interaction with @krwioholik is a blessing and they deserve far more love than they receive. if you don’t follow this one, please do so ♥ their writing is so lovely i can’t get over it
@mostlyhumcn
LAST BUT NOT LEAST fjdsk can i just say that i have the biggest platonic crush on arte??? their writing is inspiring and the deep heart-felt struggles between their regis and ellie give me life. arte was the first person to welcome me into the witcher rpc and i will never forget it. arte is an angel and i love and admire them and their writing/characterization of regis and their ideas ; ; and i love talking to them which isn’t too terribly often because i’m a wuss and don’t wanna feel like i’m pestering them afjdskFSDJKL i have nothing but good things to say about them and their writing and their other characters as well ;;;;;;
yep, i called it, i knew you would hurt us, i knew it. but daaaamn thats a whole new level! poor Lily, poor all of them!
