I didn’t know that! However…it just makes the card seem cooler to me. I am sorry it weirds you out though.
Ah, no, I think the history of the symbol is really interesting, I’d just rather not have it be associated it with my own sexuality, I guess? Like, I get enough people misunderstanding what it means to be aro/ace without having that sort of symbol attached to it as well.

people probably just wanted to run with the card theme, and to complement ‘ace of hearts’ being used for alloromantic aces. it’s definitely weird though, maybe whoever made it up wasnt aware of the death symbolism?
Yeah, I’m guessing that’s the reason, since I don’t think it would have been done deliberately. I’ve seen posts with upwards of 250,000+ notes today about the different ‘cards’ and people posting selfies holding up the ace of spades and it just…bothers me a little since a lot of people do associate the card with its original meaning and it might not be sending the best message out to anybody that doesn’t understand asexuality in the first place :/

lmaoo yeah I was thinking of the same thing! I'm sort of disturbed by how an actual symbol of death is now a symbol of sexuality. It might give the wrong signal to other people tbh.
That’s the main reason I’m not fond of it gaining so much popularity lately, honestly...
