I’ll be honest the one part of book!Gabrielle I’m most disappointed to lose isn’t even the gender it’s the colonialism. This show is proven it’s interested in and capable of exploring race, there’s so much it could have done to deconstruct book Gabi’s ecofascism and orientalism. I’ll also be disappointed if they don’t explore the rot at the core of TVL ie the setup of Marius vs Akasha as Enlightened Western white masculinity vs powerful savage divine feminine Akasha.
Like I think the stuff they are exploring in TVL right now, about cycles of abuse and trauma and regression and denial, is all really good, and it makes sense to me that they’re focusing on that over the more philosophical, less easily adaptable The Savage Garden vs The Void stuff from the book. But since they tackled the racism in IWTV fairly head on, I really hope they do the same for TVL before the end.
I know Gabriella is designed to be a polarizing character but it’s still really standing out to me how Lestat did not get called a hypersexual dommy mommy caricature for his behavior in s1, nor were his character tags a nonstop stream of people calling him a boring evil bitch

I know I already made a post to this effect but it's so baffling to me when someone defends the fact that headphone jacks are slowly but surely getting phased out by smartphone manufacturers with some variations of "wireless headphones are more convenient anyway" bc like. If we're talking about convenience what I like about wired headphones is that they conveniently have a single plug that makes the same damn pair of headphones universally compatible with every single audio-output-capable device I own, from my phone and my computer to my fucking gameboy and my casette player, it doesn't get any more convenient than that.
Have you heard about Bluetooth it's legal now
