KRYPTON LORE!! KRYPTON LORE!!
Ok so- this may be a LOOONG rant, and some may even not really like it that much.
But I put effort into it so idk, maybe at least try to check it out? Please??
It has to do with their COLD BREATH and the FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE.
And also about the CULTURE.
Ok so- I feel like it could be played much more into the whole thing Kryptonians have with Ice(not the stupid organization, the solid form of water).
Like- they have cold breath and the whole Fortress of solitude is made of a nearly indestructible Crystal(only destructable for Kryptonians or Kryptonian materials, nothing else), not to mention that it's in the north pole.
Like- I feel like traditional Kryptonian clothing could be all kinda winter themed, like- with lots of fur and all thick and stuff.
Not to mention how conservative Kryptonians seemed to be.
Like- I'm tired of people sexualizing Kryptonian culture and stuff, just because they feel like they have free will to do whatever they want with Kryptonian customs and shit, just because there's so little information about them.
Which btw- is a fucking lie. We do know some stuff about Kryptonian Civilization. The House of El isn't the last remaining group of Kryptonians.
Did everyone seriously forget about Kandor?? Really???
They exist, it's just that they're trapped in that freaking glass dome. And they were the greatest city of Krypton, apparently.
Which means that it's likely that it was the one with the most accurate and/or preserved culture.
And if you look at the crystal dome- you can very clearly see that it looks very chilly, there seems to be snow everywhere, but like- controlled. It seems packed with hella high buildings and like there was constant maintainance for the city to look put-together and stuff. Which means that there was snow everywhere. Or well- at least everywhere that wasn't street or wasn't supposed to be as clean as possible. Not to mention that every building, machine, or well- everything was made of crystal. But like- blueish crystal. We know that it's not ice because nobody has quite mentioned it to he cool to the touch besides the obvious chilliness of the air thanks to the fortress being in the North Pole, so it's probably not ice.
Which means that we know it's a crystal that looks like ice, because it gets blue when it's thick, and like- it's not see-through. So it's definitely Kryptonian Crystal. Which is of what everything seems to be made of over there.
Sorry- got carried away with Kandor, to finish that thought- Kryptonians were likely very conservatives, so I don't really think that their choice of clothing would have so many gaps and/or windows...(Say- chest window, hips windows, thighs windows, shoulders windows, yada yada yada).
Because- yeah, we have seen Kryptonian clothing before in some adaptations, and after analyzing some of the versions a bit, I think it's very minimalistic but like- kinda extra at the same time?? Like- it does really have much details, but it seems to usually be a skin-tight bodysuit and then over that- just freaking dangling fabric that's literally just loose, like- it doesn't accentuate the silhouette or anything, so I feel like that's a point for my conservative headcanon.
And it seemed to be quite sterile and stuff.
But like- my very much personal opinion is that it could be more fun for them to lean into the winter factor, it could make learning about Kryptonian culture and it's history much more interesting. Or well- as more interesting as it could get with them already being very complex beings, having in mind how complex their biology must be for them to be able to do what they do.
Like- sure, give me the sun explanation or whatever, acceptable. But also maybe give me an explanation of their eyes maybe having enveloped after centuries due to how much crystal there was in their world, and how it would be reflecting light constantly, which was why the eyes created extra layers to protect themselves from it, which could explain the heat vision if you do enough mental gymnastics.
Like- maybe they could make it so that Electromagnetic radiation was sort of a common form of radiation over at Krypton, so if the eyes created layers for that- that could explain the x-ray vision.
Maybe they formed a separate set of organs dedicated specifically towards very cold air, having dealt with it for so many centuries, and their bodies having finally decided to do something about it to not get affected by it.
Which could explain the cold breath.
And I could go on and on but this would be too long.
Ok so- going back to the clothing stuff(sorry, got distracted)-
I will do some of my own sprinkle dinkle there and add that it was all very thick clothing and with lots of furr. Probably also looked very clean and stuff.
(personal headcanon, it's ok if you don't think so).
So like- idk, I would personally just like it more if there was more lore around ice and cold and stuff.
Like- maybe them being naturally more comfortable on cooler places, or like- them complaining more of being more uncomfortable on places like the dessert or stuff. Or them having a higher cold weather resistance than normal, even without their powers or something.
Or like- maybe that they're naturally warm because their bodies are biologically made to keep itself comfortably warm and that's why they're so comfortable to use as weighted blankets and stuff.

(btw, I'm so so sorry for the fake Batfam tags down there, but it really helps this post get much more attention. I know it's annoying when there are tags in a post of a character that maybe doesn't even get mentioned. But it's just an idea I got. Plus- I always find way too much Batfam stuff whenever I look for Supers, Flashes, Green Lanterns, Amazons- or well- anything that isn't the Bats. And it's really annoying, so I also kinda got revenge there. Still- I'm so sorry I feel so mean).
