the little prince / kyungsoo (part two)
your phone screen flashed with a new notification. you let out a big groan because you finally managed to focus on the book in front you and stupid phone decided to ruin that for you.
it all changed when you see the contact name, though.
[kyungsoo: i need your textual analysis notes from last week.]
[kyungsoo: and i'm not asking nicely. because you owe me one. remember the translation assignment i did for you?]
you couldn't help but smile to yourself. thanks to your professor's obsession of projects in pairs, you two were basically unseparatable. sometimes it was hard to believe that your first dialogue was just four months ago.
before you could type and send your answer, your screen lighted up once again.
[kyungsoo: i don't wanna sneak into your dorm room. again. come to my place. i'll be waiting.]
do kyungsoo was the boy who lived with his grandma and their old cat, as everyone thought. you were one of those people at first. it wasn't really challenging for you to imagine kyungsoo laying down on his grandma's lap and reading the little prince aloud to her.
oh boy, you were so wrong.
it didn't take long to understand that do kyungsoo was someone you could never predict anything about.
in opposition to your thoughts, he was living by himself, though his mom liked to visit him regularly. and he was not just any other college boy, actually he was (not-so-shockingly) extremely neat and clean when it comes to his house.
oh, and he liked cooking. even though you only had a few chances to taste what he cooks, you could safely say that he was even more talented in this area than writing.
these are the things that kept you busy while you were on your way to do kyungsoo's house. and maybe, just maybe, your mind was also busy with the fact that your crush on him was growing bigger and bigger and bigger.
"hey," he smiled brightly when he opened the door right after your first knock.
"hi. were you waiting for me by the door or something?" you asked playfully while trying to take your jacket off. "missed me that much?"
he rolled his eyes but somehow managed to keep his beautiful smile on his even more beautiful face. "my house is small, if you can't tell. kitchen is right beside the door."
you gave your jacket to him and walked into the kitchen following by your host's tiny footsteps. "ah," you said when you finally smelled the delicious meal he was working on. "someone's been busy."
"yeah. i wanted to make something proper."
laughing, you tried to make yourself comfortable on one of the chairs. "you're right. we couldn't study textual analysis with pizza."
kyungsoo didn't answer and you didn't mind. he was already back to his struggle with boiling water, so you decided to leave the man to finish the meal in silence.
when everything was finally ready to be eaten, you tried to reach for your backpack to give the notes to him but his arm stopped you. looking up, you were met with his big eyes judging you. "what?" you replied in defense. "i just thought we could study while eating, so we wouldn't waste time. what's wrong with that?"
"you're so annoying sometimes," he said when he let go of your arm after minutes and sat down in front of you.
"well, thank you for correcting my table manners."
"it's not that," he started to talk when your giggles stopped. "there's something i'd like to say."
you felt like getting nervous with his serious voice tone and face expression but kept quiet and nodded at him to keep going. and, so he did.
"you know when we first met for our project? i made a joke about making it up to you with our next date?" you were still quiet but when the boy didn't continue, you hummed in approval just to show you were listening to him and not judging.
"i tried so many times but you didn't even notice," he was pouting as he talked. "i tried to buy your favourite chocolate and give it to you by secretly getting into your dorm room, i tried to take you to the coffee shop you always spent your time at, i tried to invite you to my house and watch a million of romantic movies together... it all failed because you always saw them as friendly activities."
"kyungsoo-" you tried to cut his words but it seemed like he couldn't hear you.
"...i even tried to write you a stupid love letter, because i thought fuck it i'm gonna do it in the way i can do best but turned out i was too coward to send it to you for real. ugh," he said trying to catch his breath. "the last one was my fault, i accept that."
you both laughed at how silly his self-criticism was.
"so," you started to speak with a big smile on your face. "you actually blame me for your other failed attempts?"
he just shrugged his shoulders.
"then it was also your fault when you didn't notice that i came up with the most idiotic excuses just to spend five more minutes with you, or touch your hands even for a second. i mean, who checks someone's fever from his hand? how could you really fall for that?"
again, both of your laughters filled the kitchen until kyungsoo got closer and started to talk one more time. "all these things mean that it is finally our first date, i suppose?"
"see? it's your fault. you're never sure."
he shaked his head with annoyance and then, when you were just about to protest he pecked your lips. even though your heart was beating like crazy, you raised your eyebrows and teased him before kissing his warm lips. this time, properly. "you really need to get over yourself, do kyungsoo."
