had minghao known he’d be paired up with a complete stranger, he would’ve thought twice about going to the masquerade. he had already been reluctant, but after making a promise to jungeun that he’d go, he supposed he had no choice. still, he thinks he definitely would have preferred going with jinyoung over a stranger, despite how torturous that would’ve been. well, maybe his date wasn’t a complete stranger - minghao knew about his existence and had seen him around the school, but the two of them had never exchanged a word, and were definitely strangers.
when he arrived outside, he immediately started looking around for his date. it didn’t take long until he spotted him, standing rather awkwardly a bit away from the crowd. it gave minghao a sense of relief to see that his date seemed kind of awkward as well - at least they had that in common. “hi,” he greeted once he’d walked up to the boy. “you’re tian, right? i’m minghao.”
