“no offence intended, it was simply an observation,” hoetaek nods. the corners of their lips twitch upwards in an amused smile at the way yohan explains how little he cares about what hoetaek thinks of him, but they hide it behind another drag of their joint, finishing it off and putting it out on the bottom of their boot. “normalcy is overrated, if anything it was a compliment, I have much more respect for people who are strange.” hoetaek snorts when yohan keeps talking—man this kid really likes to talk—unable to hide the way their amused smile is growing now as the kid goes through the list of possible nicknames. “what makes you think you’re getting my number?” they ask, though something tells them they’ll be giving it to him eventually. “and what? do you give everyone cute nicknames? should I call you yoyo or something?”
hoetaek can see what yohan’s doing, with his pout and the puppy dog eyes, and the way he’s clinging to hoetaek’s arm. it’s so clearly an act, but hoetaek has to admit it’s working a tiny bit. this kid is cute and he knows it, and hoetaek can just imagine all the poor buggers that’ve caved, unable to deny this adorable face whatever it was he wanted. even so, hoetaek knows that if they give one high schooler a free joint, they’d have to give every high schooler a free joint, and that didn’t sound like a smart business idea to them. “if you don’t have money I accept other forms of payment,” they offer. “nothing weird, don’t get the wrong idea,” they add quickly, not wanting yohan to think they were a creep or anything. “but if you really can’t pay then you can do other things for me instead. go fetch me coffee, carry my bags around for me when I go shopping, stuff like that. or, I don’t know, do you have any skills to offer? other than, you know,” they wave a hand to motion at yohan’s face. “being cute?”
If Yohan planned to reply to the older when they explained that they meant no offense, it was forgotten when he noticed that Hoetaek finished the blunt and frowning, he watched as the other stepped on it. He kept his eyes on the crushed blunt as the stoner spoke about how they had respect for strange people but the neutral was too caught up with himself to really pay attention. Of course, he was easily distracted by the Hoetaek’s name and when the other snorted, he wasn’t sure what was it that they found so amusing. “Giving me your number it’s the least you can do after finishing that blunt in front of me.” He pouted then just to show the stoner that he was not that happy about the whole thing and maybe get them to give him their number. At the mention of yoyo, the younger rolled his eyes because of course people always went with that stupid nickname and while he didn’t care about it that much, there were times that it got on his nerves. “Yes, don’t you? Or what do you call your friends? Just their names? I guess, but you could also be more creative if you want.”
Although he had hoped that Hoetaek would give him a free joint, he was not surprised to hear that the other wanted something in return but his eyebrows still rose when the stoner spoke about other forms of payment. Before he could ask if that meant anything sexual as he let go of the stoner’s arm, the older explained that it was nothing like that. Then again, he didn’t know if he could trust the stoner and it was only as they explained the errands they wanted him to do that Yohan realized that at least for right now, he didn’t have to worry about that. “Being cute is helpful, thank you very much.” He shot back, a little offended but of course, it was just him being a drama queen. “I am good at sneaking around, distracting people or more like annoying them and I can skateboard. But I can do that whole fetching coffee and carrying bags.” He nodded as he said that and even though he wanted to ask if he would get to eat some of the other’s food, he bit his tongue before he messed things up.
