I just made a table with a column for my word count for every chapter, my target word count and then the percentage complete.  

I made it so the percentage complete column shows up as a percentage rather than a number, and then used a formula to find the percentage of the chapter I completed. 

Then I used conditional formatting so that the column would show up a different colour depending on how high the percentage was. 

...I’m pretty sure this explanation made no sense, but it wasn’t that hard to figure out how to do, I just messed around in Excel until I had something.
