Gotta say i LOVE your fic Sunday, then. I tend to avoid modern aus like the plague but this one is so, so good. Your attention to little details is immaculate! I especially like Sol and Edward’s dynamic. Like damn ned give sol the attention he so clearly wants

"Early morning?" Francis asks. 

John nods, stands up and pushes his chair back in. "Moving into the new storefront tomorrow, first thing."

Francis makes a dismissive noise, finishes his whisky. "It’s not the first of the month until Monday."

John smiles fondly. "I think my landlord’s new--he tucked the keys under the door of my flat last week, left a note saying I could move in whenever I liked. Tomorrow was the best I could do with the movers, though."

Francis arches his eyebrow, his skepticism writ clearly all over his face. "Do you think he knows what he's doing, letting you move in early?"

John pauses, considers. "He must feel comfortable with any of the associated risks." Thinks on it a moment while he picks up his glass, swirls the whisky around the bottom of it, and sets it back down without drinking. Adds, "He sounds young."

"Oh jaysus," Francis says, all the Irish pouring out in his voice. "You haven't even met him yet?"

"It's all been email or text," John says. He shrugs, retrieves his leather jacket from the back of his chair and puts it on. "I'm sure it'll be fine."

For @bridglarweek -- the fic is still in progress, but I wanted to share the aesthetic of the thing with the moodboard/excerpt.

New Tricks for an Old Dog is set in the Somewhere in Canada kink au verse, and takes place six-ish years before Closer.

Trans Terror Week Creator Spotlight

It is Trans Terror Week 2020, hello!!

I’m KT, 35, queer, nonbinary. I write fic, and also things that are not fic. I used to write for Star Wars, but I’ve been writing for The Terror for almost a year. (Till Human Voices Wake Us has its first birthday in just under a month from now!)

I think my favourite thing about being in Terror fandom is how much information we have at our fingertips--like, there’s the canon! And then there’s the books that the canon is based on! And then there’s the historical events! And it feels like everyone that’s involved in creating for it has their own little niche or thing that they’re interested in, and I just really love that as a fandom. (And, like, special shout-out to all the people exploring gender in their works. Thank you for that, from the bottom of my heart. Someday, once I’ve got this all sorted out, I’ll look back and be like ‘yup, 2020. that was The Year’ and it’s in no small part due to having this place.)

The three Terror works I’m proudest of are Till Human Voices Wake Us (post-canon Fitzier, M, 14k, PTSD/trauma recovery), Closer (modern AU Joplittle, E, 60k, meet-cute at a kink convention), and Latent Heat, a collab with @longstoryshortikilledhim (modern AU Joplittle, E, 57k, hockey player Little, ballet dancer Jopson). Jopson is a trans man in both Closer and Latent Heat, but neither piece is really about gender.

(For the piece that’s about gender, you’ll have to hang in there until tomorrow when my #transterrorweek piece goes up! It’s mid-canon Fitzier.)

this is an extremely legitimate question which I, too, ask myself on a regular basis.

good news! i’m about 30k in, and fifty to sixty percent done! bad news, my schedule is absolutely batshit right now due to a combination of a bunch of things that I absolutely will not bore you by recounting. suffice to say that it is Bad.

so the story is coming!! but not at the pace I would like!!! but definitely this year, and hopefully this quarter! (I’m down to my last two writing deadlines at present.)

but I’m very pleased that you wrote to check in, and, um, if you would like to provide me with a keyword of some sort, or a character, or an aesthetic, or something, I will absolutely scroll through the draft and find you a related excerpt to tide you through <3

man, I gotta say, that Renovation fic... damn. Let me tell you, I'm very much joplittle all the way: never liked Little / Tozer at all (I'd usually never even look at any fics with that pairing), and I normally avoid threesome fics like the plague. So you'd expect that this fic wouldn't exactly be my cup of tea. But HELL NO would you be wrong. It was SO freaking good! It was just so incredibly loving and tender and wonderful!!! I'm blown away. Your writing did that. Your writing is incredible.

I started out shipping joplittle, which I suspect comes through pretty strongly in the fic. And I absolutely subscribe to and believe in the joplittle chemistry, but I absolutely love the Little/Tozer chemistry as well, so I had a really great time squishing all of that together in Renovation, and leaning harder on Little/Tozer this time around, but still making that threesome work in the end, because I’m me, and I love a threesome.

I’m also really delighted that all the tenderness and love came through. I really enjoy writing it, when I can, and I really had a wonderful prompt and a lot of opportunities to lean into that here.

(If you dug Renovation, you might want to take a peek at Sunday, Then? I wouldn’t have been able to wrap my head around Renovation if I hadn’t done Sunday, Then first, and Sunday is primarily a joplittle fic, in the same way that Renovation is primarily solittle.)
