You cannot treat the believers and the disbelievers the same, never.

When we say to have Baraa, we're talking about to hate, not to love obviously, to not support, to distance ourselves, to mistrust, to not have friendship, to not accompany, to disrespect and to not help.

So obviously, you see it's the complete opposite of having the Walaa. And as we mentioned, the Wala is only for the believers, for the Muslims, and the Baraa is for the disbelievers.

Allah is saying, how can you equate the Muslims with the criminals? And here Allah is talking about the criminals, talking about who? The Kuffar, the disbelievers. As we mentioned last week, the criminals. Disbelieving Allah is a crime. Committing shirk with Allah is a crime.

The Guidelines of Imitating the Disbelievers

The Criterion of Resembling the Disbelievers ضابط التشبه بالكفار Question: Noble Shaykh! There is a type of cloth which has become known as “jeans” and it is made into different types of clothing for the children, both boys and girls, in different fashions and manners. And this basic cloth is worn by the disbelievers in the well-known manner of tight pants. And our question is, can this cloth be used in other ways than tight pants due to its strength and good quality- and does this enter into resembling (the disbelievers)? May Allah reward you with good! السؤال فضيلة الشيخ! يوجد نوع من القماش (الجينز) يفصل بطرق مختلفة لملابس الأطفال بنين وبنات يمتاز بالمتانة، والإشكال أن هذه الخامة يلبسها الكفار وغيرهم بطريقة البنطلون الضيق وهو مشهور معروف، والسؤال: هل استعمال هذا القماش بأشكاله المختلفة غير البنطلون الضيق بمعنى استعماله لمتانته وجودته؛ هل يدخل في التشبه وجزاكم الله خيراً؟ Answer: Resembling the disbelievers is when one resembles them in something which is specific to them collectively. الجواب التشبه بمعناه أن يقوم الإنسان بشيء يختص بالمتشبه بهم، So if this or any other type of cloth is used in a way which resembles the dress of the disbelievers, then it enters into resembling them. فإذا استعمل هذه القماشة أو غيرها على وجه يشبه لباس الكفار فقد دخل في التشبه، However, if it is meant that the disbelievers wear clothing made from this cloth, but the cloth is made into a different type of clothing than they wear it in, then there is no problem with this; أما مجرد أن يكون لبس الكفار من هذا القماش ولكن يفصل على وجه آخر مغاير للباس الكفار فإن ذلك لا بأس به As long as it differs from the way of the disbelievers (in the way they wear it). ما دام مخالفاً لطريقة الكفار، even if they are famous and well-known for this type of cloth- as long as it is worn in a different way, then there is no problem. حتى لو اشتهروا بهذا القماش ما دام أن الهيئة ليست على هيئة ما يلبسه الكفار، فلا بأس. Is Watching Porn Haram in Islam?

Watching pornographic websites and sexual activity is haram; it is a disease, not a remedy. The one who does that is afflicted and he should seek to remedy himself by repenting and giving it up, not by making up excuses for himself.

All sinners make up excuses for themselves. The one who drinks alcohol or takes drugs or commits adultery – they all claim that they are under pressure and that they cannot escape it except by doing something haram.

In fact, these haram things only add to their worries and stress. One of the punishments of sin is feelings of stress and alienation, and darkness on the face and in the heart. The further away a person is from his Lord and the more he is indulging in sins, the further away the means of attaining happiness and peace of mind are from him, as Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Quran nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship.” [Ta-Ha 20:124]

As for the people of faith and obedience, Allah, may He be exalted, says concerning them (interpretation of the meaning):

“Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter).” [an-Nahl 16:97]
