Mob Psycho 100 - “Psychic Human Show” Drama CD Translation - Track 2 ‘A March Through Snow’

Initially released 2017/01/25, “Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Human Show” is the first Drama CD released for MP100, before 2019′s S2 OVA Drama CD. Official description is, “With 12 drama episodes written by Director Tachikawa & every scenario checked over by ONE-sensei, character songs for Tome and the Body Improvement Club, and a talking song between Mob and Dimple with lyrics written by ONE-sensei, this is a compilation of 15 tracks!” A bunch of tracks remain untranslated from this one.

Here’s the translation of the second track, “A March Through Snow”!

Characters: Gouda, Kumakawa, Yamamura, Shimura, Sagawa [Body Improvement Club]

[SFX: heavy breathing]

GOUDA

That’s… Everyone, keep going! Just a little further! I can see the light from the mountain hut from here!

[SFX: collapse]

KUMAKAWA

C-club president… I can’t do this anymore…

GOUDA

Get up, Kumakawa! If you fall asleep in this snow storm, you’ll catch a cold!

KUMAKAWA

My shorts are frozen stiff… this is so uncomfortable… Club president, the pet tropical fish I have at home… I leave it in your care…

GOUDA

Save me having to hear all this self pity! Are those triceps surae of yours just for decoration!?

[SFX: collapse]

YAMAMURA

Club president… I think I’m also at my limit…

GOUDA

What?! Yamamura!! You, too!?

YAMAMURA

My muscles have frozen over, I can’t… move anymore… leave me behind… I’ll make something like a snow hut and persevere until morning… 

GOUDA

Pull yourself together! If you can make a snow hut then you can move, can’t you!? Believe in your erector spinae muscles!

[SFX: collapse]

SHIMURA

Nng… I… can’t speak anymore…

GOUDA

SHIMURA!! Even you!?

SHIMURA

My hair is frozen stiff in the complete opposite direction to how it usually is thanks to this blizzard… my spirits have fallen…

GOUDA

*Surely it’s better to have icicles drooping from your fringe than to die out here! You can definitely push through with those forearms of yours!

[SFX: collapse]

SAGAWA

Club president… it’s cold, it’s so cold!!

GOUDA

Sagawa… for you to say something so obvious, given we’re in the snowy mountains of winter… you’re usually so composed, it was calming for me, too!

SAGAWA

Club president, how can you have so much stamina…? M-my head has chilled over completely… it shouldn’t have gone to my head… and, my eyebrows are cold… 

GOUDA

With that hair style of yours the snow slips off your head without piling up - isn’t that a good thing!? Plus, you have those trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles of yours, don’t you!?

[SFX: Abominable snowman growls]

GOUDA

What!? you, too?! … Actually, whose voice was that? This club is only meant to have five members…

Who is this guy!? His whole body is completely white! What incredible thick hair!

GOUDA

I see… Is that right…?

[SFX: Abominable snowman walks away]

KUMAKAWA?

He’s gone… Club president, could it be, was that… an abominable snowman?

GOUDA

I don’t know. But, I understood what he was trying to say.

KUMAKAWA?

Huh!? You understood his groans!?

GOUDA

No. I didn’t understand them, but… my ears were drawn to the voice of his muscles.

KUMAKAWA?

I see. If that’s the case, I get it.

GOUDA

“If you really want to tackle this mountain, then after training some more… try again.” That’s what I heard. Everyone… there is no limit to excellence!

EVERYONE

Club president!

GOUDA

Yes! That’s the spirit! When we get back to the mountain hut, let’s train our muscles!

EVERYONE

YES!

GOUDA

Let’s come again next year! And bring Kageyama along with us! Let’s GO!! BODY IMPROVEMENT… FIGHT!!

*; he says something at the beginning of this line that I… cannot understand for the life of me. ほうむせ、ほうむせ is what I’m hearing which. Is nonsensical. So I’ve chosen to omit it. But please if you have better ears than me drop me a message, I wrote like 10 theories down but decided it would be better to just have this as a little “help” note rather than mistranslating haha ;;

**; I also apologise for the question marks here, I’ve had a very hard time telling voices apart for like… my whole life (Kumakawa and Yamamura sound identical to my ear). If u don’t have ear congestion and can actually tell their voices apart please let me know!!

Making a pillow of the arm beneath his head, Kumakawa runs his free hand through the ends of Kaede’s hair, and twists it in curls about his squat little fingers. Kaede, draped about him with his long and wiry limbs, seems to melt into Kuma’s paunch, and rolls his cheek in circles back and forth against his chest. It’s smooth, and soft, and warm - though strange for how the texture of his skin changes where the light scarring of his tattoos comes to end. Despite this, he is comfortable, and makes for a far better sleeping mat than their well-worn and moth-eaten futons.

Kuma murmers, half asleep, voice rumbling against Kaede’s ear. “Your hair is going brittle... You have not been eating well.”

“I can’t bring myself to do so. The nightmares make me queasy.”

Peering down into the roots of his hair, Kumakawa bows his head to lay a kiss upon the top of Kaede’s, before settling slowly back into himself.

“You’ll have none of them with me.”
