In September 2001, an attempt was made to King Carl Gustaf. The weapon turned out to be an attempt strawberry cake, an attacker at the time was 16 years old. The originator of the accident was one of the spectators, watching as the King and Queen Silvia arrived at the park near the town of Varberg in the south-west Sweden. Suddenly, the young man broke away from the crowd, pushed his way through the ring of the king and the guards threw the cake exactly in the monarch's face. The guards did not have enough time to react to this attack. The attacker was immediately arrested by the king's bodyguards and knocked to the ground. In the first seconds of the king looked shocked. But then he laughed, tasted stuck to his face and a piece of cake praised the skill of the Swedish pastry. King also patted the back of her abuser and asked whether he had a good feeling after a conversation with the royal guard.
