[7:45 am]— best friend!Kunhang slapped the hood of his car, leaning his hip against it, and crossed his arms. “Come on, Y/N, we’re going to be late!”
I took a sip of coffee from a mug branded by a random American basketball team, leaning against the door frame, dressed simply in a pair of sweatpants and my favorite sweatshirt. I looked like I had just rolled out of bed, which I had since Kunhang took it upon himself to be my personal alarm.
“I’m not going to school today!” I yelled across my front yard. “I don’t feel well!” I faked a cough.
“Well, then, I don’t feel well either!” He doubled over, cradling his stomach, and staggered across the lawn. “Maybe I should come inside and rest!” He flashed me that mischievous grin I grew to know so well.
“Yeah,” I said as he stumbled through my front door, “maybe you should.”
Once I closed the door, he whirled around, suddenly in perfect health. “Whoever loses in Mario Kart has to buy lunch?”
You woke to a shaft of sunlight falling through a crack in the curtains and dust motes circling through the air. Your bed tilted a little as Hendery shifted next to you and you looked over at him fondly, watching as his eyes scrunched closed as a beam of light hit his face. He tilted his face back into the shadow, and then appeared to wake up more fully. He tilted his head toward you, careful to keep his eyes out of the sun. His voice was gravelly as he said, “Good morning.” He yawned and lifted his head up for a second before reconsidering and letting his head floomp back into the pillow. You scooched closer to him and reached out to pat at his hair, which stuck up in every direction like Siri trying to get you to your destination in the most roundabout way possible. You laughed as you did so and he wrinkled his nose, flipping onto his stomach to hide his face in his pillow.
“Hey, come on,” you pleaded softly, your own voice rough with sleepiness. “I’ll stop petting you if you don’t look at me.” It was your threat that made him grunt and turn his head to the side to look at you, eyes full of joking betrayal. Everyone knew you gave the best faux head massages. You kissed from his temple down to his ear, where he whined from the tickle of your lips. You moved from there to the corner of his lips and then you laid back down next to him, sinking into him as his arms wrapped around you; you thought you felt the press of his lips against the crown of your head.
“I love you,” he murmured.
“I love you too,” you replied, snuggling deeper into him. I love you too, and I won’t ever let you forget it.
snow beneath your boots, snow blanketing cars, snow resting on roofs and benches and hats and pets and-
you took a deep breath, your exhale visible in the frigid air, as you tried not to slip on the icy sidewalk below you. it's not like you hated the white fluff that coated every nearby surface, it was quite the opposite. really, you loved the snow! but you didn't love it when you had to trudge home through three feet of it.
you walked towards your apartment complex as quickly as possible without falling on your ass. all you could think about was the warmth that awaited you inside, the soup in your fridge that you were going to heat up for dinner, a hot shower to take the chill off of your bones. you were expecting a relaxing rest of the evening, your stressful shift at the cafe down the street now done and over with (you never wanted to hear someone utter the words 'chestnut praline latte' ever again).
what you weren't expecting was a snowball to the face as you neared the entrance to the lobby.
the first thing you felt was the impact of the icy ball from hell against your cheek. then, coldness hit you as some of the snow made its home in your hair. your head whipped towards the direction it was launched from, a glare hot and ready on your face with choice words already running through your mind for the culprit. your fiery eyes met those of a pink-haired boy behind the bushes in front of the complex, a sheepish expression painting his features.
you would have thought he was cute if you weren't so angry.
"i'm so sorry, i was trying to hit my friend whose in the car behind you-" you glanced behind you to find another boy laughing his ass off in the driver's seat, his smile impossibly wide, before returning your attention back to the offender, "and i accidentally hit you instead. i swear i didn't mean to, you have to believe me!" his voice held a panicked tone after taking in your visibly annoyed expression.
you sighed. he obviously didn't mean to, and he seemed genuine in his apology. you shouldn't take out your annoyance from your shift on an innocent person. your anger quickly simmered down to a low boil as he stepped out of the bushes onto the sidewalk next to you, a hand coming up to lightly brush the snow out of your hair. depsite the frost that nipped at your face, a warmth found its way to your cheeks. with your vision no longer painted red, you were able to take in his features fully. he looked like a prince, even with the glaringly pink hair — he somehow pulled that loud color off.
"it's- it's fine, really," you shot him a tight smile, wishing you could just disappear into thin air. you wanted to get back to your apartment as quickly as possible now. the situation was embarrassing enough, and your awkward self didn't feel like staying out in the cold with a, admittedly cute, stranger any longer, "i'm just, uh, gonna go now. bye."
you turned away from him and continued your short journey to the lobby, hands rubbing against your cheeks to drown out the nagging voice in your head that told you over and over that you just made a fool of yourself.
stupid stupid stupid-
"wait!" he exclaimed behind you, making you stop in your tracks. you turned back around as he spoke again, "maybe you could come to my apartment for some hot chocolate? as an apology?"
he looked hopeful, making your heart pump a little faster than normal. and so, you panicked.
"o-oh, i wouldn't wanna intrude! it was no big deal, really, " your adorably wide eyes stared up at him, and he hoped you couldn't see the red hue creeping up his own cheeks.
"c'mon, i feel bad, at least let me give you some hot chocolate? you look like you're freezing." he seemed nice, genuine, maybe even a little funny, contrary to the boys you'd tried to date before, and you'd be damned not to take him up on his offer.
"i- sure," you conceded, "lead the way."
a jolt shocked your form as his hand found yours, the contact startling yet oddly welcomed. his warm fingers contrasted your chilled ones, as you had forgotten to bring gloves with you to work. you initially regretted it, but hey, if the cute stranger wanted to hold your hand, then so be it.
he guided you to the elevator, finally releasing your hand as he examined your somewhat startled expression. "sorry, uh, i can get a little excited sometimes," he chuckled, but he didn't seem too sorry. his pretty eyes widened, "i didn't introduce myself! my name is kunhang."
the elevator opened as you replied, a grin painting your face, "i don't mind. and it's nice to meet you, kunhang, despite the circumstances. i'm y/n."
the ride up to his floor was quiet, but it was far from awkward. his hand gripped yours again once the doors opened, pulling you excitedly down the hallway until he reached his door, where he gestured for you to go in first.
as you stepped past the doorway, you took in the room. it definitely looked like boys inhabited this apartment. an xbox was hooked up to their flat screen tv, random items were strewn across the couch, posters of marvel comics and video games littered the walls. and then the christmas tree…
"why is there a throwing star on top of the tree?" you asked, one eyebrow quirked up in amusement. he was already in the kitchen, grabbing the hot chocolate packages from the cupboard.
he continued his actions, acting as if it was normal to have a throwing star taped to the top of a christmas tree, "it's all we had, and we're too lazy to go find an actual star from the store, so we had to make do. water or milk?"
"milk, duh," you answered, "so i'm assuming by 'we', you have a roommate?"
"yeah," he chuckled, "yangyang, the guy i was throwing a snowball at?" you nodded, "that's him."
you hummed in response, taking a seat on one of the chairs next to the kitchen counter to watch him heat up the milk. he leaned against the counter, puffy jacket now discarded to reveal a hideous christmas sweater. from what you'd seen from him so far, this was fitting.
he handed you a mug after a few more minutes, marshmallows floating along the top of the cup. you blew on the steaming liquid before taking a small sip, humming at the sweetness coating your tongue. he sipped from his own mug on the other side of the counter before suddenly asking, "do you wanna go watch christmas movies?"
"sure," you got up and followed him to the couch. he cleared the random items off of them before plopping on one side of the couch. you sat on the other, not wanting to push the boundaries too far. you had just met him, after all.
he put 'elf' on before getting comfortable in his seat. you did the same.
the movie passed quietly, only a few giggles coming from both of you at the particularly funny parts. you glanced over at him, the flickering light from the tv highlighting his features perfectly. he looked even more princely in this light, and you couldn't take your eyes off of him.
he glanced over, finding you staring at him with a look he couldn't quite place, "you good?"
you snapped out of your trance, "o-oh, yeah! i just started spacing, sorry." you laughed awkwardly afterwards, trying to save face.
nice going, idiot.
he nodded, turning his head back towards the movie. you followed suit, heat spreading down your neck as embarrassment set in.
another movie began, your hot chocolate now long gone. a chill ran down your arms as you grew colder again, the hot liquid was only a temporary fix. a hot shower sounded heavenly right now.
he glanced over at your shivering form on the other side of the couch, noticing how cold you looked, "hey," you glanced over at him, and he patted the vacant space next to him, "c'mere, you look cold."
you decided that you might as well. he seemed good-natured, he could've done something before this, and he hadn't. so you scooted over next to him, allowing him to sling an arm around you and pull you into his body. he was oh so warm, his presence comforting. a blanket found its way in front of your face, and you placed it on your lap to gain more heat.
"thank you," you mumbled. an 'mhm' rumbled his chest below your head, and you bit your lip before returning your attention to the movie once more.
maybe half an hour passed, the sky now growing darker, when his roommate, yangyang, slammed open the door. he spotted you two cuddling on the couch, a mischievous smile painting his face.
"see you got the girl you've been pining after for weeks. your little plan worked, then."
kunhang's expression morphed from comfortable to panicked as he looked back at his brat of a roommate, who was now walking away smugly. he was going to kill him later.
you frowned, shifting to sit up and face him, "what plan?"
"w-well, uh," he grinned nervously, "i saw you a few weeks ago, and you justlookedsoprettybutiwastoonervous-"
"woah, woah, slow down," you grabbed his hand, squeezing it, "i'm not mad, i swear. just tell me."
"i saw you a couple weeks ago, and, uh, well, you looked so pretty and i wanted to talk to you, but i couldn't figure out how. yangyang came up with the idea of throwing a snowball at you to catch your attention and i was just so desperate that i agreed and now here we are and i'm so sorry because it was weird-"
the giggles bubbling in your throat interrupted his rambled confession, your form doubling over as your laughs grew louder. he glanced down at you, a smile growing on his own face at your reaction. you really didn't care.
"that — oh my god — that was the best thing i've ever heard. you could've just talked to me, but i appreciate the effort," you cackled, "i don't bite, y'know."
he laughed, "i know, i was just so nervous and it was the first idea that he came up with it. i don't know why it was so nerve-wracking to approach you."
"it's okay, just don't throw a snowball at my face next time."
"i didn't mean to!"
you two broke out in a fit of laughter, it pittering out into a comfortable silence after a few minutes. you stared up at him, your smiles slowly fading as you stared at each other. you bit your lip before leaning forward and planting a chaste kiss on his cheek, pulling back to see his shocked face. you giggled as a bright grin stretched across his lips before he placed one on your cheek too.
you glanced at your phone briefly to check the time. 11pm.
"i better go, i have work tomorrow morning," you both stood up, and he guided you to the front door before he stopped in his tracks.
"hold on," he said before he rushed back to the kitchen, returning with a folded scrap of paper in his hands, "open this when you get back to your apartment."
"alright," you grinned, "see you tomorrow, maybe?"
"yeah! maybe we could go do something tomorrow? like a date?"
"yes!" you cringed at your overly excited tone, "i mean, yeah, that sounds great."
"great," he smiled charmingly, squeezing your hand.
you kissed his cheek one more time before stepping through the doorstep into the hallway, "see you tomorrow, kunhang."
"see you tomorrow."
when you got home, you opened the note he had handed you before he left, finding a short message:
'text me if you ever wanna go throw snowballs at yangyang with me ;) xxx-xxx-xxxx'
maybe a snowball to the face wasn't all too bad if this was the outcome.

‘Daddy!’ Jiayi screeches as Kunhang enters the house, coming home from a long day of practice.
‘Angel,’ Kunhang grins, dropping his bag and allowing the small girl to jump into his arms, nearly knocking him over.
Chenguang, who is sitting on a mat on the kitchen floor, looks at the scene and then at you in confusion, almost doing a double take when she realises her dad is at the door.
‘Ah,’ she begins rambling on in baby speak.
‘What baby?’ You smile, ‘it’s your dada.’
After the hug attack from his oldest daughter, Kunhang makes his way down the corridor towards you and Chenguang.
After the hug attack from his oldest daughter, Kunhang makes his way down the corridor towards you and Chenguang.
After the hug attack from his oldest daughter, Kunhang makes his way down the corridor towards you and Chenguang.
‘And hello to my other two angels,’ he scoops up Chenguang into his arms, kissing her cheeks repeatedly. Chenguang, who’s entire fist is in her mouth, giggles and shrieks loudly.
‘Dada, I made you a picture,’ Jiayi announces, holding out the drawing.
Kunhang takes it in his hands, smiling widely while he examines it.
‘It’s beautiful, Jia, I love it.’
‘Can you see? It’s you, me, mama and Guang.’
‘I can tell angel, thank you so much,’ he puts his arm around her waist, pulling her close to him to kiss her little forehead.
As they have this conversation, you’re discreetly lighting the candles of the birthday cake you and Jiayi had baked together. You had ran through the plan with her multiple times, telling her that once the candles are lit, she should begin singing the happy birthday song.
Once you’ve finished lighting the candles, you stub the match out and pick up the tray, slowly turning around.
The orange glow from the flames grabs the attention of both Kunhang and his two daughters.
‘What is this?’ Kunhang beams, chin wobbling as he attempts to hold in his emotions.
You and Jia make eye contact, and you give her a nod.
‘Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to dada, happy birthday to you.’
Kunhang is beaming.
‘Wish, dada, make a wish!’ Jiayi insists, shaking her dad’s shoulder.
‘Alright, alright,’ Kunhang chuckles, before falling silent and closing his eyes. After a few seconds, he reopens his eyes and blows out his candles.
Chenguang claps her chubby toddler hands together.
’Thank you baby,’ he kisses Jiayi, before kissing Chenguang, ‘and thank you to my other baby.’
Suddenly he makes eye contact with you, and his eyes visibly soften.
‘And to my biggest baby.’
You roll your eyes hard as you place the cake back down on the counter so that it’s ready to cut.
‘Hey, how about you go get ready for bed, you little rascal you,’ Kunhang tickles Jiayi’s side, ‘I’ll come kiss you goodnight.’
‘But, the cake-‘
‘It’s too late for cake Ji,’ you interrupt, ‘you can have some after school tomorrow.’
‘Okay…’ she mutters, dejected, before turning away to leave the kitchen and run upstairs.
‘Hi,’ you smile at your husband, who’s still holding Chenguang on his hip.
‘Hiya sweetheart,’ Kunhang pulls you close to him so that you’re tucked into his other side.
‘How was your day?’ You ask, fiddling with the lapels of his bomber jacket.
’Tiring,’ he sighs, ‘but better now.’
‘Ji has been so excited all day,’ you tell him, ‘she really wanted to see you.’
‘I missed you all today. It’s nice to be with the guys but it’s so much nicer to be home.’
‘We’ll properly celebrate on your day off,’ you smile weakly, ‘by the way, I have a present for you.’
‘Really?’ He raises his eyebrows, surprised.
‘Yeah,’ you grin cheekily.
‘I thought I said I didn’t want anything,’ he groans, ‘you better not have spent loads of money.’
‘No, no, don’t worry. This is more of a... naturally occurring thing.’
‘What?’ Kunhang’s eyebrows are tightly furrowed, ‘what are you on about?’
‘I’m pregnant, Kunhang.’
Kunhang’s eyes widen like saucers.
‘You’re… you’re not joking are you?’
‘No, no, no, I’m being serious.’
‘But,’ he looks and Chenguang, ‘you just were pregnant.’
‘Chenguang is one… you’re not disappoin-‘
’NO, of course I’m not I’m just surprised,’ he kneels down to place Chenguang back on her play mat.
He embraces you in what’s possibly the softest hug you’ve ever experienced, placing kisses to the top of your head.
‘We’re getting one more baby,’ Kunhang smiles against your scalp, and your heart hammers as you feel the pure love radiating from him.
‘Happy birthday, Kunhang,’ you mumble.
’Thank you my love. I love you and our beautiful family so much.’
At this moment, Chenguang gurgles, demanding your attention.
‘I think it’s bed time for you too, missy,’ Kunhang says, leaning back down to pick her up, ‘Y/N, are you coming?’
‘Let me just put the cake away. Then I’ll be right there.’
I need more Hendery fluff and I can’t find it, so I make one :”)
Enjoy!!
"Kunhang, stop it!" you squeal when Hendery's long fingers poke you when you are focusing on a sketch you have to finish tomorrow.
"I'm not going to stop until you give me some attention." he smirks and resumes his activity he had done in the last twenty minutes. Poking you non stop, and making you squirm and wiggle from the ticklish feeling when he poked your side belly.
You growl and groan when your childish boyfriend once again launches a series of tickle. When you can't hold it any longer,
you give up and toss your pen aside, quickly you revenge Kunhang and tickle him down.
He was not the most ticklish and that made you even more angry that you cannot pay him back for what he did.
"No fair!" you jump from the sofa and run to hide in the bathroom. Hendery can only laugh when he won over you.
"Tell me where is the “not fair” part?" his big eyes tease you from the small gap between the door. He managed to slide one of his leg in and you cannot close the door entirely.
"Move away or your hands will be gone." you warn him when he tries to sneakily put in his long arms to tickle you again.
"Okay okay, but please go out."
"Only if you promise not to tickle me." you death glare at him.
"Yeah just if you stop sketching and give me some attention... It's been a while since we meet each other." Hendery sighs, well he has been clingy because it's the first time he return to Macau after a long schedule in China with WayV.
"Okay okay, but I only need a few more lines darling and we can have the whole night to pamper you." you plead him with your puppy eyes as well and he nods, but his nod is slow... like when you just turn down a puppy's offer to play fetch.
You pat his hair and walk confidently back to the sofa and pick up your work.
Hendery drags his legs to sit beside you and if he is a character with tail and ears you can see his ears flopping down and his tail hung between his legs.
Hendery sits next to you and stealthily snake his arms around your waist, he waits for your reaction and when you just smile, Hendery hugs you tighter from the side and plants his chin to your arm.
"Did I bother you?" he asks after staying in that position for a while. You shake your head, he was hugging from the left and your working hand is the right hand, so he is technically not restricting any of your movement.
"What is that sketch for and why do you need to finish it tomorrow?" he asks with his chin still planted on your arm, so his voice comes out a bit distorted.
Your eye brows raise and while you continue to focus on drawing, "A sketch for Ten's new tattoo. He wants me to help him fix the lines."
Hendery nods and gives an "aaah I see, another tattoo?"
When you said you only need some more lines you were not lying, in ten minutes you have taken a scan of the drawing and send them to Ten.
"Alright prince, I am done with my work. What shall we do?" you clean up your drawing pieces with Hendery clinging by your side like a koala. Seriously you're not as tall as him, so his big body hanging on you is not an easy weight.
"Just want to hug you and cuddle," he whispers as he inhales the sweet shampoo smell you have on your hair.
"You smell so good!" he gives a light kiss on the nape of your neck.
You blush, "We can watch a film," you distract yourself quickly by opening the fridge to take out two cans of drinks and Kunhang already latches himself away from you to grab a bowl and opens a bag of chips.
"Uh who will wash that dish?" you give him a glare.
He shrugs his shoulder, "We? We will wash it together. Come on I crave pop corns too." he grabs another bowl and your hands already hand him the popcorn seeds.
Hendery gives a winning smile and gladly pops the bag into the microwave.
You bounce on the floor while waiting for the pop corn.
"Hm? Cold?" he asks when he realizes the cloth you are wearing is a bit light for a cold night like this.
"Uhum a little, it's okay I have a blanket in the sofa."
Hendery pulls you into his direction and hugs you, "Warmer?" he smiles his cheesy fan-service cashier worker smile.
"Creepy!" You push him away right when the beeps of the microwave erupted.
You bring the drinks while Hendery makes sure not to drop any of the chips and popcorns.
The TV in your living room is quite big, well you come from a wealthy family who runs a casino in Macau.
When Hendery has taken his spot, you climb to the area next to him and make yourself comfortable with leaning almost half of your body to his chest. You spread the fluffy blanket over your body and his, and with one press of button the famous opening song of 20th FOX Century resonates through the room.
Well the film is not totally immersing, you and Hendery are busy feeding one another, throwing heart eyes, and blushing like this was your first dates.
Well it's been a while since the two of you did this, usually you only see him from screens and having Kunhang here in your hand is a sweet moment.
"I've wanted this for so long." You toss your head to face his eyes.
"Me too," he ghosts his fingers over your shoulder.
"I can't stay away from you." you stare into his lips
"Well now I am here," he can't help but smile and oh gosh he really look like a prince.
You wait for him to do anything, but this silly man is only breathing in front of you.
"So, why haven't you kissed me yet?" you almost burst into a laugh when you see the slight surprise in his face.
"Oops you woke up the beast girl," he smirks and leans in closer to you. His hand reaches your neck and with one push of your neck and him leaning in, his lips are on yours already and the two of you didn't mind anything else other than savoring the unexplainable feelings you two exchange.
It was long and passionate, and he breaks them after you punch him to take in air.
"I love you Kunhang," you whisper and press your ears to his chest.
His heart beat shows he too is nervous and you hug him from the side.
"I love you most (y/n). You make me so happy." he kisses the crown of your hair and engulfs you in a hug.
You close your eyes into his touch and embrace "I am lucky to have you."
"No, I am luckier." he stares into you with hearts all over his eyes.
"Then I am the luckiest." you end the conversation by kissing him and closing your eyes to sleep.
“alright guys! for our video today, we will be giving each other a complete makeover!! hendery, if you dare put me in a horrendous outfit, I will rip you a new one later, got it?” you threaten, and he just grins devilishly at you.
“well guys, if this is the last YouTube video I’m ever seen it, you guys will know why.” he chirps, and you roll your eyes as you continue with your YouTube video.
“alright, hendery!! come on out!” you shout, turning off your LED lights as you wait for him to reveal himself. he dramatically opens the bathroom door, sashaying into your room as he poses for the camera. you bust out laughing at the ridiculous outfit you had made him wore, and next thing you know, he’s the one laughing at you when you come out in your horrendous outfit he had planned for you.
“I’m going to kill you tonight in your sleep, hendery. keep an eye open at all times tonight.” you threaten with a big smile on your face before finally wrapping up you two’s video.
after doing so, hendery flops down face first onto your bed. “did you really have to make me cosplay Willy Wonka, though?” he grumbles out, and a shiver runs down his spine as he realizes this video will be online forever.
“of course! my subscribers asked, so they shall receive~”
“so what are we going to do now?” kunhang questioned, looking down at the mess of the living room. the floor had become disgustingly unclean, so they were lucky enough that it was a wooden flooring, but the ripped pillow was much harder to fix. the worse part, was the crying toddler that sat in your lap.
“i don’t know! we could just call her parents, it was an accident and plus it wasn’t us, it was the kid who knocked the food on the floor and decided to somehow pull the pillow apart.” you replied, wincing at the sound of the child’s loud cries as you tried to calm her down.
“then we get called irresponsible. i’m worrying for our future children.” he placed his head in his hands, leaning against the door frame in complete stress — there was two of you, and you couldn’t take care of one child.
“our kids? you want to have kids with me?” you smiled, causing kunhang’s heart to swell then melt in the space of a second.
ever since he had laid his eyes on you, he knew you were his future, his everything, and he knew that if he was going to start a family with anyone, it would always be you no matter what.
