you're anti-suyin and pro kuvira
Muy bien
Um. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm pro Kuvira. She makes some valid critiques about the Earth Kingdom's monarchy and I think Wu is unfit to lead. But that being said her mob boss extortion tactics and putting people in work camps isn't better than a boy-king. Suyin just isn't a character I can take seriously when attempting to hold any kind of moral high-ground considering her own transgressions. However now I do wonder what kind of parental figure she was if Kuvira turned out this way...
Idk who I think would win but it’d be one hell of a fight
Ok so I just found this on youtube, go give it a like for our badass ladies of the Avatar World :)
Back at it again with the bender bros. Or shall I say the missed opportunities with them. The writers should’ve dug deeper with Bolin and worked to make him more than a comic relief. And I feel as though “Bolin loves to help people” feels like a case of telling instead of showing. It’s not that I feel we’ve been given any indication Bolin is an unkind or uncaring person. It’s that his actions, including emotionally adopting Kai, tend to feel shallow and random because they’re usually played for laughs.
I can buy that someone who grew up with the lack of stability Bolin did might have a tendency to be easily led and easily manipulated by someone like Kuriva but the writers didn’t give us that ground work so it always felt like, “well Bolin just does random stuff like this.”
In better hands, Kuriva’s forgive and forget attitude could hold up an uncomfortable mirror to Suyin which forces her to confront the consequences of her whatever will be will be approach to things. But I doubt that’s the road story is going to take.
I know Kuriva’s this season’s big bad, but she’s got a point. Being all ce sera sera and letting other people deal with the consequences is definitely Suyin’s whole brand.
Okay, big picture my distaste for Suyin aside realistically she shouldn’t have had to take on a leadership position if she didn’t want to. That being said she was doing this thing with Korra where she was all, “if only someone would do something about the Earth Queen.”
Now Korra not realizing that world affairs are an avatar duty can be traced back to the White Lotus sucking at training avatars, but it’s sort of lazy to point out a problem without offering a solution. Which in this case would be a better system of governing. Not that, that wouldn’t be a tough sell in a place used to kings and queens. But at the very least she could’ve searched for someone fit to lead.
