Message: Merry Christmas!! I had a lot of fun with this and I hope you like it (it’s slightly nsfw towards the end but nothing major I hope you don’t mind). I hope you have a really great new year!!!
Daichi’s life started to get interesting once her friends told her that she looked unhealthily stressed. True, university was subtracting from her preferred amount of sleep and she was finding herself falling asleep with her noise pressed against her laptop keyboard more and more often, but it took about two months of Suga and Asahi’s insistence to actually do something about it.
“How about yoga?” Suga suggested, tidying away Daichi’s notes into orderly piles. “Build strength as well as relaxing?”
“No thanks,” Daichi said. “I don’t fancy getting up any earlier.”
“I go to cat cafes when I’m stressed,” Asahi confided, plucking at thee strands of hair escaping from her messy bun. “I don’t know if that would help, but…”
Suga brightened at the idea. “No, that’s good! Isn’t patting a cat supposed to help you relax?”
“I’ve never got on with animals really,” mumbled Daichi.
“I have a membership card you can use though,” Asahi said, “so you can get free coffee with your food?”
“Okay, I’ll go.”
“Excellent.” Suga smiled. “Tell us how it went!”
Two days later, Daichi was in a definite state of I can’t believe I’m doing this. The infamous Tokyo cat café was warm and cozy with soft, cushioned chairs and art deco furniture. And, of course, there was an abundance of cats.
Daichi was starting to feel mildly uncomfortable as a shaggy black cat tried to crawl onto her hefty thighs, clad in her favourite old sweat pants. Daichi carefully pushed the cat off, earning herself a reproachful look.
“Don’t give me that,” She grumbled, giving the cat a stroke, “I didn’t ask to come here.”
The cat just stared at her and jumped onto her lap again, sinking her claws into Daichi’s skin and padding around, trying to make itself comfortable. Daichi bit her lip to stifle a whimper of pain.
I could really, really do with that free coffee right now.
However, she had been here for twenty minutes and no one had taken her order yet. By the looks of it, none of the other customers had been served either, but they obviously didn’t mind. In the corner a pretty, curly haired girl was laughing hysterically at her spiky haired friend who had just been clawed. Another girl with a scary looking smile was trying to coax out a particularly timid looking cat but without any luck. Daichi watched them, amused.
Eventually, she couldn’t wait any longer. She stood up, (carefully removing the cat from her lap first), and strode over to the counter. She rug the bell, once, twice. No answer.
Daichi frowned, confused. There had to be staff around somewhere, to take care of the cats at least. Somewhere…
“Hello?” She said, gazing around. “Hello? Are we in lockdown or something?”
“Eh? What are you talking about?”
The new voice came from behind the cat’s climbing tower, a rich, female voice that just oozed confidence.
“Um, only there’s no one here to look after the cats, and I just…” Daichi trailed off, distracted by the manicured hand becoming her from the girl’s spot behind the tower. Daichi wandered over.
The voice and hand belonged to a roguish looking girl, dark haired, tall, with perfectly shaped eyeliner and piercings on her ears and nose. Her unbrushed, spiky hair was short like Daichi’s, only on one side. The longer side curled down to brush at her broad, muscly shoulders. Currently, a couple of cats were resting on her impressive chest and her stomach, and more importantly, her cat café apron and name tag.
“What do you want?” the waitress said without looking up, scratching a large grey cat between its golden ears. Daichi noticed she was wearing red nail polish.
“Um, shouldn’t you be working?”
“Yeah.”
“Not playing with the cats?”
“Yeah.”
“Are you going to serve me?”
“No.”
Daichi sighed deeply and gave up, bending down to pat the tiny ginger cat. When she did so, the waitress finally looked up.
“Actually, you’re cute,” she said, a smile playing around the corner of her lips. “Okay.”
Daichi recoiled. “Huh?”
The waitress carefully lifted the cats off herself and stood up, towering over the already tall Daichi. “Food? Coffee? What do you fancy?”
“Uh, a cappuccino and, um…”
“I recommend the panini,” the waitress said, in a way that could only be described as teasingly. Fearing that she would soon become too red to speak properly, Daichi readily agreed.
“Yeah, I’ll have that then.”
The waitress nodded and flashed another flirty smile in Daichi’s direction before walking off to the kitchen. Daichi’s eyes followed the sway of her hips until she went out of sight.
“Here’s your panini and complementary cappuccino, cutie.”
Daichi paused in the act of stroking the now sleeping black cat to look up into the grinning face of her waitress, who was bearing food with great intent.
“Thanks,” Daichi said, as she placed her order in front of her. “Uh, about the – huh?”
The waitress, after getting rid of the food, had just slid onto Daichi’s couch seat, her side pressed up against Daichi’s. Daichi could feel her warmth and the motion of her breathing, and tried very hard not to go red.
“Shouldn’t you be working?” Daichi asked, squirming slightly as to put some distance between her and the unfairly attractive waitress.
She shrugged. “Yeah. I’m filling in for Lev though, so it’s not like I’ll get in trouble if I don’t.”
“Oh.”
“I’m Kuroo, by the way,” she said, licking her teeth slightly in order to remove some lipstick.
“Sawamura Daichi.”
“Sawamura… Hey, let me have a bite, will you?”
Daichi moved her plate away from Kuroo quickly. “No, I paid for that!”
Kuroo pouted. “But I delivered it to you! Come on, you’re even giving the cat some!”
Daichi froze in the act of sneaking a bit of meat to the cat on her lap. “Sorry, are they not allowed to eat this kind of food?” She tried to tug the morsel out of the cat’s jaws, but with no prevail. Daichi had to quickly withdraw her hand as the cat nipped at her, making Kuroo laugh.
“Nah, it’s fine.” Kuroo winked, successfully distracting Daichi and swiping her food. She took a large bite before Daichi could grab it off her, eyes dancing with delight.
“Oi!” Daichi snatched the panini out of Kuroo’s manicured hands, huffing slightly. “I told you, that’s my food!”
“And it tastes great~” Kuroo sang, wiping her mouth daintily with the napkin. She was still laughing slightly.
Daichi frowned. “You just wanted to annoy me, didn’t you?”
“No, of course not!”
“Or make me pay attention to you?”
Bingo. Kuroo’s eyes had taken on a certain gleam, a crafty one, one that almost mirrored that of the cat currently stretching out in Daichi’s lap. Damn, now there was cat hair all over her favourite sweatpants. Double damn, the pants were comfortable but not really what she wanted to be wearing in front of this gorgeous waitress.
Daichi rolled her eyes and sipped her coffee, deliberately ignoring Kuroo’s gaze. “I don’t appreciate it.”
“Aw come on cutie, don’t be like that!” Kuroo was pouting now, dear god. Her eyes were wide and her lip was thrust out towards Daichi, making Daichi want to lean forward and nibble at it. Nibble at it? God, she didn’t find this irritating woman attractive, did she?
Daichi inwardly prayed for god to be easy on her when she died. Despite the fact that other simple minded people might be accompanying her, Hell didn’t seem like an attractive prospect. Besides, she sweated terribly when it’s warm.
But this waitress was really, really pretty. Or perhaps pretty wasn’t the right word… Kuroo wasn’t pretty in the way that Suga was pretty with her soft hair and flowery dresses and beauty mark under her eye, or the way that Oikawa was pretty with her perfect legs and curly hair. Kuroo’s hair was too roguish, her makeup to bold, her body too strong, her eyes too sharp to be called pretty. No, Kuroo wasn’t pretty. She was as hot as fuck.
And Daichi was in big trouble.
“Don’t call me cutie,” she grumbled, taking a sip from her cup and peering at Kuroo through the steam. The rising heat from the cup was making her face and palms uncomfortably damp. “I’m not the cute type.”
“Nah, you’re as buff as hell, aren’t you?” Kuroo drawled appreciatively, admiring Daichi’s biceps with her elbow resting on the table top. Another cat, a large white one this time, slunk under her arm and tickled Kuroo’s nose. Carefully she lifted the cat down, blowing the fur away from her face. “Get down from there, you little monster.”
“Do you like cats?” Daichi asked, despite herself. Dammit, she wanted her to go away, not start a conversation…
“Yeah, they’re pretty cool,” Kuroo said, smoothing down her uniform. “They’re really hard under their cuddly exterior, you know? They’re tough. I like creatures like that. Ones that can fight with everything they have.”
Daichi stared at her for a moment before busying herself with her food. What Kuroo had just said sounded very, very familiar. Not as if she had heard it before, but as if she understood it perfectly.
“Anyway, what are you doing this weekend?”
“KUROO!”
Kuroo looked around lazily and greeted an angry looking waitress with short caramel hair and a stature to match. She was waving a menu at her colleague and looking mightily annoyed.
“Kuroo, we’re short staffed! What are you doing lazing around?”
“Sorry Yaku!” Kuroo replied. “I’ll be there in a moment.”
Kuroo moved off the couch and stood up, stretching her arms out above her head in a catlike yawn. Daichi’s side suddenly felt very cold in her absence.
“I best be off,” Kuroo said to Daichi, flicking her hair out of her eyes. “Here, have this.” She tossed a card at Daichi, who caught it before it fell into her half empty cup. “It’s a membership card of your own. Come again sometime!”
She waved and bustled off out of sight before Daichi even had a chance to reply. Confused, she looked down at the card and flipped it over.
On the back written in scrawly writing and a black biro was Kuroo’s mobile number.
Meanwhile, the black cat on Daichi’s lap fell into a deep sleep.
…
Daichi ended up coming back. Of course she did.
It was raining this time, practically bucketing icy water down onto Daichi’s head (she hadn’t been prepared enough to bring an umbrella). She huddled down deep into her jacket seeking an escape from the water dripping down the back of her neck, and hurried towards the welcoming lights of Kuroo’s cat café.
A cheerful redheaded girl greeted Daichi when she walked in and took her soaked jacket, giggling slightly as Daichi blinked the water droplets out of her eyes. Her hair was clinging to her forehead and she wished she had brought a towel with her.
“Well well, look what the cat dragged in.”
Daichi looked around to see Kuroo grinning at her while balancing trays with each hand.
“That was a really awful pun,” Daichi said, grimacing. “God.”
“But you really do look like a drowned rat,” Kuroo said, laughing. “You’re soaked!”
“Like I don’t know.”
Kuroo clicked her tongue, looking Daichi up and down. “If you like, I can lend you my casual clothes? They’re dry.”
Daichi hesitated, but declined. “A towel would be nice though?”
“Sure thing.” Kuroo left, letting Daichi sit down on her previous couch. The black cat was sleeping there, Daichi noticed too late.
Great. First she gets soaked to the bone and then she sits on a pissed off cat.
Today all the cats were gathered by the large heater in the middle of the café, sleeping close together for warmth. A few people including two boys, one with glasses and a beauty mark and a tiny one with blonde hair were sitting nearby the cat pile, with a couple of cats sleeping on their laps and shoulders. Daichi watched them for a while, before Kuroo returned with a notebook and a towel.
Daichi took it with a word of thanks and self-consciously rubbed her hair dry, wishing Kuroo would stop looking at her. Her hair was short enough to stand on end when she had dried it and she looked completely ridiculous.
“So, you came back,” said Kuroo.
“So I did.”
“Any reason why?”
Daichi tried not to notice that Kuroo was leaning over the table in a way that displayed her cleavage. “Um… I missed this cat?”
To prove her point Daichi tried to stroke the cat she had previously sat on. It bit her.
“Anything else?” Kuroo winked. Winked.
“The food?” Daichi said desperately, wishing Kuroo would stop. “On that note, can I order?”
“Oh yeah. What do you want?”
“Um, can I have a cappuccino please,” Daichi mumbled, looking down at her towel. She had just noticed that Kuroo had a tongue and it was very distracting.
“Sure thing,” said Kuroo, writing it down, “anything else?”
Daichi could’ve sworn she had seen another wink.
“The soup of the day please.”
“Okay, it’ll be here shortly.”
…
Daichi kept visiting the café more times than she would like to admit. It was either that or contact Kuroo directly, but that would mean admitting that she was actually interested in her and not just coming to the café for cats and free coffee. Kuroo always seemed pleased to see her, which was good. Or not, seeing as Kuroo was basically insufferable when pleased.
“That cat must be really fond of you by now,” Kuroo said, noticing that Daichi’s black cat was in her lap again. “Either that or it’s just really fond of your thighs.”
“It wouldn’t be the only one,” Daichi said, and then immediately regretted it. That was dumb, that was dumb, why the fuck did you say that it was so dumb. Kuroo was laughing and Daichi was really fucking dumb.
“Oh, I’m sure.”
There was silence for a moment as Kuroo refilled Daichi’s water and Daichi tried not to hide under the table.
“So,” said Kuroo matter-of-factly, “when are you going to ask me out?”
Daichi almost dropped her cup. Instead, she took what she hoped was a calm and steady sip from it, not meeting Kuroo’s eyes.
“If you’re go eager to go out, why don’t you ask me out?”
Kuroo shrugged. “Do you want to go on a date some time?”
“Yeah sure,” said Daichi.
“Cool.”
…
The next time Daichi went to visit the cat café, she wound up behind the large cat climbing tower where she had first met Kuroo, being kissed fiercely up against a wall.
Kuroo had taken Daichi by the hand when she had first walked in the door and pressed a finger to her red painted lips. She had led Daichi to her own personal hiding place and then proceeded to stand in front of her, twitching nervously.
“Why am I here?” Daichi had asked.
“Cause I really want to kiss you,” Kuroo answered eventually, tugging at her apron, “and this is the most secluded place.”
“Oh.”
They both stood there for a moment, going steadily red. Daichi’s brain seemed to be experiencing some kind of fault – thoughts were chasing each other’s tails round and round her head but her body wasn’t responding to any of them. Say something intelligent. Step forward and kiss her. What would kissing Kuroo even be like anyway? What if someone saw? Why why why isn’t anyone moving oh my god…
In the end, it was Kuroo who reached out and cupped Daichi’s chin in her hands. It was Kuroo who took a step forward so they were nose to nose. It was Kuroo who leant forwards, head tilted and lips parted, eyes fixed on Daichi’s own. However it was Daichi who finally pressed their lips together. Kuroo’s lipstick was sticky and tasted like cherries. Daichi sucked at her bottom lip tentatively.
Kuroo made a small sound in the back of her throat, almost like a deep purr which reverberated through Daichi, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end and her knees weaken. Kuroo was a damn good kisser as well, which didn’t help. In comparison, Daichi was a bit sloppy and clumsy, as she hadn’t had much experience. She had only had one boyfriend before, Michimiya, and no long term girlfriends, only a few hook-ups at parties and bars. Her dear Suga had been one of the one night stands, but she had made Daichi breakfast in the morning so they became close friends. Basically anyone who gave Daichi free food became her friend.
Kuroo gave her free coffee though, which was probably why they were making out.
Daichi pulled away from the kiss and leant towards Kuroo’s ear, almost grazing the shell with her swollen lips. “Thanks for the coffee,” Daichi whispered.
“I thought you were about to say something really sexy for a moment,” Kuroo complained. “What a let-down.”
“What do you mean that wasn’t sexy?” Daichi teased. “I’m surprised you aren’t completely ravishing me by now.”
“I would rather be radishing you, to be honest.”
“How do you radish someone?”
“We could find out, if you like.”
“No.” Daichi pulled her back into a kiss to stop her from spewing out another godawful pun and completely killing her lady-boner.
Lady-boner. She’d always disliked that term, but it was on point in this circumstance.
Kuroo had her hands tangled in her Daichi’s hair now; massaging her scalp in a way she had never imagined would feel this good. The short strands of her thick hair were being tugged at and played with and making her produce tiny grunting sounds. Damn, making out with Kuroo was definitely one of the best decisions she had ever made.
Daichi’s hands were running up and down Kuroo’s back, appreciating her glorious shoulder muscles, the curve of her ass, her rock hard sides, her boobs… Kuroo had very nice boobs. Very, very nice.
“Ooh, easy tiger,” Kuroo said, as Daichi experimentally ran her hand over Kuroo’s chest. “That’s a bit early, don’t you think?”
Daichi moved her hand away quickly, trying to ignore Kuroo’s embarrassing choice of words. “Please don’t ever call me tiger again.”
“Okay then, baby girl.”
“Stop.”
Kuroo’s hands moved down from Daichi’s hair to her neck and shoulders, allowing Daichi to move her own fingers upwards. They reached the back of Kuroo’s neck and entwined with the roots of her hair, tugging at it.
Something that sounded suspiciously like a moan came from Kuroo’s mouth and she instinctively pressed her body up against Daichi’s – her chest against her chest, her hips against her hips, her knee in between Daichi’s legs.
“Ah, you like that, do you?” Daichi said in what she hoped was a sensual voice, trying to hide how turned on she was by Kuroo’s actions. She tugged at Kuroo’s hair again, this time at the long bit on the side. Kuroo arched her back slightly in pleasure.
“Oh no, I can’t have you getting one up on me now, can I?” Kuroo countered, her voice a lot sexier than Daichi’s, much to Daichi’s annoyance. Kuroo smirked and slipped her hand under Daichi’s SPYAIR t-shirt, making Daichi gasp. Her hands were cold on Daichi’s bare skin. Not to mention…
“Aha, so you’re ticklish!” Kuroo crowed as Daichi buckled and bent double, moving her hands to her stomach protectively. “Bingo!”
“N-no, stoooop…” Daichi laughed, trying to bat Kuroo’s hands away. “I’ll kick you!”
“Nah, you won’t,” Kuroo said, but moved her hand around to Daichi’s bare back anyway. By now, she was pressing Daichi right up against the wall of the cat climbing tower, basically pinned and entirely in her clutches. Not that Daichi minded.
Kuroo then moved her mouth off Daichi’s and down over her jawline until she reached the soft skin of her neck, where she started kissing her open mouthed. Daichi’s eyes widened and her breathing quickened, suddenly hyper-aware of just hot Kuroo’s mouth and tongue was on her sensitive skin. She was going to walk away from this covered in marks, she knew.
Slightly further up on Daichi’s things of Things To Be Concerned About was Kuroo’s right thigh which was now pressing against Daichi’s traitorous lady parts, making them throb in a worrying fashion. She really, really wanted to roll her hips and create more friction between the zip of her jeans and Kuroo’s pant leg, she was almost crying out for it. But would that be too much? Would that be wrong? Would that be too awkward? It would be admitting that Kuroo turned her on, which she didn’t really want Kuroo to know because Daichi dreaded the smug, self-satisfied look she would be sure to make. The fact that Kuroo now biting her collarbones did not help.
Carefully, cautiously, almost against her own will, Daichi’s hips rolled.
“Ahh,” she though she heard Kuroo groan under her breath, “Here we go.”
And suddenly they were rocking, desperately humping themselves on each other’s legs, hands clutching at shirts and hair and mouths kissing wildly. Daichi’s breathing was getting faster by the second, rising in a crescendo as sensation took over her brain. Kuroo’s hands were roaming all over her body and her tongue was in her mouth, they were making out furiously and were paying absolutely no attention to their surroundings.
Looking back, that was a really dumb move.
Daichi’s back thumped against the cat tower with considerable force, making their lovely wall slightly less upright and stationary than preferred. The three meter tall tower lost its balance and started toppling backwards.
“Oh shit,” Daichi just had time to say, before the structure hit the ground and they were exposed to about twenty shocked people and about forty startled cats.
“You got that right.”
Daichi just had time to worry about the visibility of her fresh new hickies when about ten cats jumped on her and sent both her and Kuroo crashing to the ground.
…
“So, did the cat café plan didn’t work out?”
Daichi sat in the middle of Asahi’s flat, pulling her scarf tighter around her neck as Suga made her tea in the kitchen.
“Yeah, you could say that,” Daichi said.
“I can’t believe you were told to leave,” Asahi chimed in, still looking concerned. “You’re not banned for life, are you? Cause it could get hard to find employment if this kind of stuff gets on your permanent record…”
“No no, nothing like that!” Daichi laughed, clapping the fretting Asahi on the back.
“Oh, thank god.”
“One good thing did come out of this fiasco though,” Daichi said thoughtfully, playing with the membership card Kuroo had given her. She had finally saved the number onto her phone, and kept receiving texts from her girlfriend every half hour.
“Hmm? What was that?” Suga asked, setting Daichi’s tea down in front of her.
Daichi took a sip and grinned. “I met a particularly irritating waitress who likes cats, puns, kisses like a goddess and makes damn good coffee.”
“So your dream girl then?” Suga said, exchanging a knowing look with Asahi.
Daichi sat back against the couch and smiled, mind wandering to the time when she’ll see Kuroo next. Should she surprise her once her shift ends? Or maybe go and have another coffee at the café?
Daichi laughed in response to Suga’s question, a light, carefree laugh she would’ve thought wasn’t possible a few weeks before.
Wait?? One of my top kurodai blogs is following me WTF. OK stay calm...she responded to your message try to act like a normal human. But yeah another blog I never thought would take notice and I get intimidated very easily.

If I had it, just Jo. Very unimaginative when it comes to this.
A dragon, just a small blue or purple dragon maybe on my wrist or ankle. Maybe also a Ravenclaw crest. They would both be small but yeah those are what I’d want if I ever decided to get any.
14. piercings i want
I’ve got my ears pierced once and if I had anymore piercings done they’d be on my ears. Probably another lobe piercing but if I was feeling brave maybe an auricle piercing. Sadly I’m a huge whimp so I’d just stick to my ears.
16. favorite movie
The Nightmare Before Christmas has been my favourite film for years now and I don’t see it getting displaced any time soon =)
