I found out that my ceramics professor is a world renowned artist and his work has been in places such as the Smithsonian and the Natural Museum of History in Taiwan.
But in class...he's just this nice little old man who gets excited about glazes and says things like "make it look like it came out of a chicken".
Modern Takes on Old China in Ming to Modern at the Newark Museum - it is striking that this case is contains 5 pieces of contemporary porcelain that are made by artists who are all included in one of my current projects - Ulysees Dietz - how did you know? (at Newark Museum)
