has Felix ever hurt Kuntri? Or tried manipulating him at all?

Felix has definitely hurt Kurtis. Never in the same horrific ways he’s hurt Josh. Never torture, beatings, or chains - god, no. At worst, maybe a hit or a slap? A shove, or grabbing him by the shirt in a heated argument. But it's never crossed into outright violence.

Manipulation, though? ABSOLUTELYYY. Constantly. Felix manipulates Kurtis all the damn time, often by making him feel overwhelming guilt about the time they spent separated. He frames it as abandonment and uses that narrative to keep Kurtis tethered, always working to earn back his approval. Felix makes him grovel for forgiveness, despite knowing deep down it wasn’t Kurtis’s fault.

And yet, twisted as it is, Felix does care for Kurtis. As usual...in his broken and possessive way.

What does Kurtis think about Felix?

Kurtis sees Felix as his brother. Not by blood, but by survival. They grew up in hell together, failed by the system, tossed between foster families - that kind of bond runs deep. They were all each other had, the only family they ever knew. Kurtis lost Felix once, and the thought of losing him again petrified him. He'll have nothing and no-one. That fear is what keeps him quiet. He can't lose his brother.

He loves Felix, but he fucking hates him for what he's doing. It sickens Kurtis to his stomach. But all their history, his loyalty, all the guilt - it's stronger than everything else.

It’s not that he doesn’t care about Felix's victims. He'll try his best to allieve their pain and suffering where possible - he's always sneaking Josh stuff he shouldn't. But he’s scared choosing them means abandoning Felix all over again.

- so don't get me wrong; Kurtis is by no means a good person. He's just so loyal to his 'brother', he turns a blind eye. At the very least, he still helps however possible. Josh actually grows quite fond of him throughout his captivity.

What if kuntri joined the squad kept by Ronan?

I actually think in that dynamic that he would assume a leadership role. He'd be the one to wrangle Henley and Izaak in, the one trying to put all their heads together to survive and devise an escape. Kurtis would definitely be one to do his best to play along with all of Ronan's games and act his part just to survive (exactly like what he's told Josh to do with Felix) but there would be a concealed defiance and determination.

Honestllyyy. Kurtis was straight up telling Felix to go down there and be gentle with Josh, make amends, APOLOGISE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!

And what does Felix go and do? Be his usual sleazy, gaslighting self 😑 Pins all the blame on Josh and then hurts him further in way of Josh saying sorry 😤 He's a piece of work! Kurtis better be ragin.

who's kuntrI?

Kuntri is a fun little nickname we've given to my character Kurtis from Play Pretend! He first appeared in Chapter Five - he is Felix's friend (he also supplies Felix with drugs/medication that he uses on Josh 🫣) who we'll certainly be seeing a lot more of in future!

What ab kuntr- Kurtis?

Oh, totally aware - Felix is very resentful of his childhood and upbringing. He's never really trusted in anyone, and even when people only wanted the best for him, he only saw the worst in them. The stories are definitely always in a bad light.

Kuntr - Kurtis (hehehe), similarly didn't have the best upbringing but he turned out SO differently from Felix. I promise, Kurtis does have a conscience and he will help Joshy out so much during his time in captivity.

Kurtis and Felix have a lot of history together, they're like brothers.
