Describe, in detail, how your character reacts while under pressure. How does he/she make important decisions in a short span of time?

All Valentina ever knew, was depending on no one but herself. Throughout her life, she had no choice but to choose depending on what seemed best to her, and she learned to think and act quick; a defense mechanism manifested deep inside her. By now, most of the decisions she makes quickly and/or under pressure already count in the outcome of them. The smallest amout of decisions come purely from a feeling in her stomach.

Does their decision-making process include assessing every possible outcome? Or do they just do the first thing that comes to mind?

Every decision Valentina makes is (to a certain extent, at least) thought through. Even though the outcome might sometimes still surprise her, she usually will expect and count in the worst that could happen and tries to avoid that, not only for herself but for the people around her, mainly.

Would they make a decision that conforms to their own beliefs and needs or would they try to meet the expectations of others?

While Valentina tries to seem like a heartless, rude person to the people around her, inside, she can't help but think of the others first, even if she doesn't admit it to herself - this is mostly because of the huge hatred she feels towards herself and her mistrust of her own judgement.

Do morals and ethics matter to your character?

Yes. Ever since she was a chid, Valentina was told that she was a monster, and that everything she did would end in a desaster. With the way her life went from then on, ending in her killing her father, she feels like she has proven just what they had told her all her life. During her ifetime so far, and especially since she was imprisoned, she has become a very moral person, hating hersef for breaking her own rules.

To Valentina, her whole life is a chain of linked wrong decisions. There is a ong list of things Valentina regrets and will never forgive herself for.

Describe, in detail, how your character reacts while under pressure. How does he/she make important decisions in a short span of time?

Ben has never done well under pressure and he knows it. When he feels stressed in a situation, he often chooses the easiest and fastest way out. This reaction fuels his self harm and knowing that he doesn't do well under pressure drives his low self esteem. 

Does their decision-making process include assessing every possible outcome? Or do they just do the first thing that comes to mind?

Ben is very quick minded and because of that, he often doesn't slow down in any attempt to be rational. Though the gears in his head spin a mile a minute, he still misses possibilities and sometimes doesn't completely consider the outcome. 

Would they make a decision that conforms to their own beliefs and needs or would they try to meet the expectations of others? Do morals and ethics matter to your character?

Ben would always try to meet the expectations of others first and satisfy others before his own needs. Peer approval plays a big role in his decision making and so it's very easy to pressure him into doing something he doesn't really feel is right. Morals and ethics matter, but only to a point.

How often does your character make decisions they end up regretting?

Very often. Once Ben returns to his room and thinks about what he has done, he finds every flaw possible in his execution. There's always something he could have done better or a better outcome he could have potentially achieved. And sometimes, it isn't even that he reacted poorly or made a bad decision, it's just that every decision Ben makes is a poor choice in his eyes no matter what.

Does their decision-making process include assessing every possible outcome? Or do they just do the first thing that comes to mind? 

Destiny takes multiple things into consideration when making a decision. Usually she'll balance out each choice and consider the outcome, considering whose going to form an opinion on her or how it is going to affect someone else if they are involved. However, she does suffer Borderline Personality Disorder. When Destiny isn't having the greatest of days, she does do the first thing that comes to mind. If she's angry she will go with her first instinct. 

Would they make a decision that conforms to their own beliefs and needs or would they try to meet the expectations of others?

A lot of the time, Destiny will try to conform to something civil. Something that can be agreed on by her and whoever else (if there is another person involved). She will continue to do what she feels is right though. Again, when Destiny isn't having a very good day such as her being angry, she feels a lot more stronger about things and will therefore stick to her own beliefs. 

Do morals and ethics matter to your character?

They do matter to Destiny as she is a very kind, caring and giving person. She likes to be in peoples good books, therefore she takes ethics deeply into consideration. Morals are far more important to Destiny as she follows her heart a lot and goes by what she feels is right or wrong.

How often does your character make decisions they end up regretting?

There are a few decisions which she sometimes ends up regretting for example when she is suffering badly of her BPD and reacts differently to how she usually would. One of the main emotions that shows is anger. Destiny is almost a completely different person. She has had no criminal record or any history with violence or aggression but does kick up a fuss when she's angry. She has never harmed anyone in her actions. Whilst Destiny isn't suffering, she regrets very little decisions.

Skylar usually does the first that comes to her mind. When assessing things, she then begins to hesitate or second guess, which was usually followed her friends making fun or her or something like that, which she didn't like. The whole thing has stuck with her and her decision making is now thrown off.

Would they make a decision that conforms to their own beliefs and needs or would they try to meet the expectations of others?

In the past, Skylar would try to make decisions that would meet the expectations of others, though, as she got older, she started making decisions for herself and not worrying about what others thought.

Do morals and ethics matter to your character?

No. Skylar couldn't care less about those things. They're water off a duck's back to her.

How often does your character make decisions they end up regretting?

Almost never. Unless the decision comes back and completely ruins Skylar's life (like burning down a library) then she regrets her decisions. However, that's not that common.

Describe, in detail, how your character reacts while under pressure. How does he/she make important decisions in a short span of time?

This all depends on what kind of pressure Alexis is put under and what kind of decision she has to make. If it's something small, she'll make them quickly without much thought. However, if it's a more serious decision like, say two people were about to be killed and she could only save one, she takes a bit longer. Pressure can add to her making erratic decisions, however, and if she has to make a fast choice she rarely is able to think through everything.

Alexis is a bit of a happy medium here. She'll assess the most probable outcomes, but not every possible one. But depending on how much pressure she's under or what kind of decision it is, she may end up just doing the first thing that seems like the best at the time.  Would they make a decision that conforms to their own beliefs and needs or would they try to meet the expectations of others?

Again, Alexis is a bit of a happy medium here. It varies strongly on who the "others" are, however. She always sticks somewhat to her beliefs and what she herself thinks is best, but her decision making is likely to sway heavily depending on whose expectations she may be expected to meet. If it were a doctor's or a strangers, it would have far less impact to her than a friend's.  Do morals and ethics matter to your character?

To some extent. Alexis' morals and ethics are a bit askew, but she does have them and does try to conform to them.  Rank the following things based on how much they matter to/affect your character in terms of making a tough decision:

How often does your character make decisions they end up regretting?

I feel like Alexis will always somewhat feel bad about her decisions no matter what they are because they typically have a negative outcome for someone. However, I don't think she regrets many of them. The thinks things through enough to justify her actions (at least to herself) and stand by them.

What is your character’s most painful memory/memories, and why?

The most painful memories that Danny has would be the day that her parents split up. It was very hard of her considering the fact that she was so close with her father and she was made to live with her mother. Another painful memory would be when her mother forced her to abort her child. This is hard on anyone, no matter if they want a child or not. 

Has your character ever talked to anyone about it?

Danny has told one patient unintentionally about the abortion.

How long has it been since it happened?

The split-up was when she was about ten years old. The baby memory roughly happened when she was around eighteen or nineteen years old. 

Think back especially to the character’s childhood [if it is a childhood memory], and what coping mechanisms he or she might have employed since then. What would happen if your character suddenly decided to confront this memory, or these memories, and was forced to do so pretty much alone, and without outside aid, unable to rely on the support of friends? What are their current coping mechanisms?

Danny doesn't really have any coping mechanisms with the two memories because there isn't anything she can do to get back what happened. She killed her mother for multiple reasons, the split-up and the baby are only two of them that she had to get back at her mother for doing. Danny does talk to her friends, Bones and Monday on occasion about it, but even they don't like to talk about it either. 

Would the character experience symptoms of physical illness, like those the quotation describes? If forced to engage in conversation—but unable or unwilling to discuss the memories or the process—what would he or she say to explain him or herself?

Danny often feels sick, guilty, self-hatred, anger, and depression for the things that had happened to her if she had to talk about it. She would rather not talk about the terrible memory, but she knows that sometimes you have to do things that you wouldn't want to ever do.

What is your character’s most painful memory/memories, and why?

Skylar's most painful memory has to be the time that she witnessed her uncle hit her aunt. She remembers it as clear as day. She was 8, and she had just finished getting ready for bed when her uncle stormed in, completely blackout drunk. She didn't know what to do. She was so scared. She locked herself in her room and didn't come out until the crying had stopped. She remembers hugging her aunt as they both cried together.

This is Skylar's most painful memory because her aunt was like her safe haven. Sure, her parents were great and all, but Skylar loved her aunt dearly and she couldn't stand to see her hurt.

Has your character ever talked to anyone about it?

Never. She refused to tell anyone after her aunt begged her not to tell anyone. Skylar may have been only 8 when she made that promise, but she still carries it 'till this day.

How long has it been since it happened?

It has been almost 14 years since it has happened.

Think back especially to the character’s childhood [if it is a childhood memory], and what coping mechanisms he or she might have employed since then. What would happen if your character suddenly decided to confront this memory, or these memories, and was forced to do so pretty much alone, and without outside aid, unable to rely on the support of friends? What are their current coping mechanisms?

Skylar's coping mechanisms have always been burning things or belittling others. When absentmindedly flicking a lighter didn't help to calm her racing mind, she'd have to turn her sights onto someone lesser than her and make sure that they knew how better she was. Knowing that she had power over people always seemed to put her mind at ease.

However, if Skylar were to suddenly decide to confront this memory, she'd fall back into the pit of anxiety and undoubtedly lose herself to the horrible illness.

Would the character experience symptoms of physical illness, like those the quotation describes? If forced to engage in conversation—but unable or unwilling to discuss the memories or the process—what would he or she say to explain him or herself?

Skylar wouldn't feel physical illness when talking about this, but her mental illnesses would skyrocket if she were forced to speak about this. She always tries to be as vague as possible when talking about these things, unless of course, she wants to talk about these things - which is almost never.

What is your character’s most painful memory/memories, and why?

Unsurprisingly, Alexis has a lot of painful memories. However, a couple stick out more prominently than others for being the worst of the worst. One would be an encounter she had with a doctor in another facility where she was raped and tortured. Another would be the time she spent in isolation after killing another patient. Yet another would be the time she had to wander around temporarily blinded and finally, finding out she had killed her mother. 

Has your character ever talked to anyone about it?

No. Alexis has mentioned aspects to most of them sparingly, but she has never actually talked to someone about what has happened to her in her life. 

How long has it been since it happened?

The three first events happened about a year ago and of course, the last one happened years ago when she was just a kid. 

Think back especially to the character’s childhood [if it is a childhood memory], and what coping mechanisms he or she might have employed since then. What would happen if your character suddenly decided to confront this memory, or these memories, and was forced to do so pretty much alone, and without outside aid, unable to rely on the support of friends? What are their current coping mechanisms?

Alexis has always coped through self harm and burning things and later in life, having rough sex. It's simply how she picked up on handling her problems without having to rely on other people (for the first two), as she never really had anyone to rely on. She also internalizes all of her bad memories and they eventually add to the deep rooted self hatred she has.

Would the character experience symptoms of physical illness, like those the quotation describes? If forced to engage in conversation—but unable or unwilling to discuss the memories or the process—what would he or she say to explain him or herself?

Alexis has never been physically ill over anything that happened to her or that she did other than when she was raped. When forced to talk about herself or her past, Lex frequently tries to change the topic or divert attention away from herself. Beyond that, I'm not sure what she would say.
