Life Changing Events
You never think they happen until you have experienced it. My weekend has consisted of one life changing event. Actually, it was just last night and I couldn't have come at a better time (with exams about to come and having not studied much).
KYCK (Katoomba Youth Camp K)(The K doesnt stand for anything hahah) held over this weekend has encouraged me and turned my world upside down. I have learnt, re-learnt and reminded what it means to be a Christian. Some of the things that I have been educated on are:
It is not that we love God, but God loved us which is ever important shown through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
Perfect love (Jesus) has driven out our fear of death, it was fulfilled for God's glory and to defeat our sins.
"Turkish delights" (even though I don't like the food), are the delights of the world are not able to be equally idolised as God is to be.
JESUS LOVES US! It is through Jesus' love for us that we are to persist and continue our life with God. And if we fail to continue with path with God, our proclamation of reaffirming our faith is NOTHING!
Do not "copy and paste" the bible, but instead keep searching for the truth.
For if we believe in Jesus, love is not optional
1 John 4:10- This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sin.
These are some of the few things that are buzzing and rebounding in my mind. I think it's a pretty good recap of what I've learnt this weekend. And I thank the Lord that I could be changed and that 250+ other youth could receive your word and also see your love.
The experience of standing up for your faith is truly amazing and unbelievable, seeing so many people believe the same thing that you do is definitely reassuring! Especially when you find out that your brothers and sisters in Christ have congratulated you and partied with the angels in heaven and finding out close friends have reaffirmed their love for Jesus.
Just want to thank God and his perfect love, my leaders that have kept encouraging me to keep persevering to seek God. Thank you to KCC for organising this event. If you are reading up to this point I would like to thank you as well, for reading my testimony for this week and I would like to ask you to pray for me as I continue on this walk with God. If you are not a Christian and would like to ask me anything, hit me up in the ask box above (I think haha)
May God bless and hopefully I'll be writing something else soon!
p.s. I don't think I've blogged like this before
