Is Michael in the same universe as Kyle and Delilah? What would they all think of each other?

Yes, Michael is part of the same universe.

They canonically know each other and their stories are generally tied to one another in most of the various au's I have active in my head especially the one that my game's are in. I'm still on the fence as to how mentioned they all will be in each others stories so I don't know what might be considered spoilers later on but as for information I'm fairly sure I can mention:

Kyle is old friends with/a client of Michael's dad and formally met him when Michael was around 19 and he was 24. At some point Kyle took him under his wing so to speak for various reasons and they became really close. Their friendship delves a bit into the darker ranges because of who they are as people and Michael knows about all the things that Kyle does but doesn't really participate in any of the heavy things. Kyle pushes him a bit but usually only invites Michael to things he thinks he'll genuinely like. For the most part tho they have a very normal friendship outside of the dark freaky things, their regular hang outs are shockingly average and they're kinda just bros who get a little silly sometimes. Delilah hates Michael and he finds it really hot(so does Kyle). She met him through Kyle and begrudgingly tolerates his presence but never sugarcoats her words or feelings with him, and while that's usually not a trait he likes in a girl she's one of the few exceptions because of the freedoms he's allowed with her. Their interactions are mostly sex related and any other time she generally tries to avoid/ignore him. She's very much hoping for Michael to get on Kyle's shit list so she wont have to deal with him anymore but part of her knows that's probably not going to happen so she cusses him out and copes.

Michael's relationship with them is not romantic at all even with the sex and closeness. He see's them as a good friend and his wife who he can get freaky with sometimes but has no interest in being in a relationship with either of them as he is generally very monogamous and can't really deal with how dark they can get together.

Fear not dear anon it IS meant to be! Work is still happening with Maladaptive Expression it's just gotten a bit slower as less writing based things have been taking precedence with that project and a second project has taken a lot of my active attention at this time. Big Maladaptive Expression updates and news on the currently unnamed second project

This game has taken on more life than was originally planned, when I started this it was a quick concept game for a renpy class I was taking. I didn't know what I really wanted the plot to be and a lot of Kyle's character was pretty unfinished, I was using them to learn how to make a game rather than making a game to show off any plot? But as time has gone on and I've really played with my characters in this universe I've fleshed a lot of things out fully and have been spending most of my time focusing on revising the early demo things and figuring out art.

The current demo art is all temporary including many things like designs, color pallets, outfits, and layouts. The house has gone through a major renovation! Originally it was a generic shell I slapped some rooms in to finish the class in time and now it is a well thought out space that fits the plot and characters.

Story work on day 3 has started but I am focusing more on revising some things and trimming the fat on the first two. I can provide a little sneak peak to Kyle and Delilah's day 3 as a treat. Kyle

Once new art, draft edits, and day 3 are finished that will be the end for the final demo. After that the next real game update will not happen until day 20 is finished. The game is for sure still being worked on just very slowly. It's a large project and I'm still learning and testing things out to get a feel for coding in general.

That leads to I believe my first public announcement that I'm working on a secondary game!

I want to have a bit of experience completing something under my belt and have been working on a smaller second project that is still currently unnamed centering around my oc Michael! It will be a small one to two day game centering around a breaking and entering and what fun might be had during it. You can even have a small sneak peak at a scene and my sweet evil boy.

Michael's got such a fun story! I'm really excited to be writing for him and I can't wait for people to get to know more about him. He's much less evil than Kyle and Delilah but he's got so much to him and I've really grown to love him.

It's been really good for me to test out things on a much smaller scale and get some more experience under my belt. It also helps having something else to focus on when work on Maladaptive gets hard. My ultimate goal is that the completed version of it will drop same day as the final demo for Maladaptive Expression so that there can be a complete game to play in addition to my main demo.

My plan is to draw more casual art that I can share of my oc's in the downtime for people to see, I do admit my silence kinda makes the project look dead but it is alive and well!
