About your hal&kon hc,,, kyle was actually almost that lol, idk if you read 90s conics but kyle was the one of the first adults that treated kon well and didn’t use him and he taught him how to draw too!!

I’m currently just starting Kyle’s run in the 90s GL (lit in the first 10 issues atm) and haven’t read a lot of Superboy’s, but I looked up what you referenced and lemme tell you: you know ball :))))

(Can’t wait to get to this point, reading comics is slooooow sometimes lol)

I do like to think about Hal and Kon in that situation cause I like the idea of someone who knows Superman so well (having worked with him for so many years) getting to know Kon and telling him that he’s fine not following Clark’s footsteps, sort of giving him permission to exits outside the ‘S’, but Kyle also works in this scenario bc he has experience from when he first became a GL— a very similar experience, actually.

They both picked up the mantle after their adored, powerful, pretty much invincible, almost legendary predecessors died/disappeared, forcing them to fill in the shoes of someone they didn’t get to know and making people kinda resent them or not take them too seriously at first.

Don’t know how I missed that lmao.

You’ve given me stuff to think about and to add to my current WIP, so thanks a lot for the ask, anon! Always super happy to receive them, any opportunity to yap is amazing in my book :))
