i try not to, but i do get a little annoyed when someone makes jokes about when i offered Aang 'violent advice' (or pseudo-violent, since i never explicitly said anything). every Avatar is needed in the time period they are born in. i was born in a time where Jianzhu held capital over every nation in the world; he sacrificed his pupil to a spirit when he was no longer needed and even when he survived our friendship had been severed by vengeance; then he killed his friend and my only family without remorse. there are times when the only times to stop a parasite is to stomp it out. but regarding Aang, if he saw sparing the enemy fit, then that is a brave call i won't undermine. mercy can sometimes be just as difficult a decision to make. i don't know, i just had to get that off my chest.
